The Tett, Now and Then (Tour): Meet the Tett Community Engagement Coordinator, Shannon Brown as she takes you through the ages and stages of The Tett Centre for Creativity and Learning. This fascinating building has been home to a military hospital, a bustling brewery and the home to many of Kingston’s best known artists and creators. End your tour at the Juniper Café, right on the shores of Lake Ontario. Kingston Handloom Weavers and Spinners: Experience Weaving’s Ups and Downs and Spinning’s Spins with the Kingston Handloom Weavers and Spinners. You will be introduced to the guild and all its colourful fibre treasures. All materials covered by your fee. The Kingston Lapidary and Mineral Club: Learn to Cut and Polish a Stone using a diamond trim saw, grinding and polishing. The stone, from Mountain Grove Ontario, is unakite, a medium hard stone that takes an excellent polish. You will have a completed polished stone, a cabochon, by the end of this activity. All equipment is provided at the club i.e. protective aprons and glasses, as is the stone. Must have good hand eye coordination and be able to stand for long periods of time. The Kingston School of Dance: Just Move is for seniors who want to explore the innate dancer within. Using a variety of movement cues and musical tastes we will explore movement transitions that enable the student to express their own unique dancing abilities. *Head to Juniper Café on the Lake Level before or after your class for some great food and beverage!
