813-986-3651 Join our “Friends of the Oaks” group on Facebook

February, 2018

Please join us on our new Facebook page.

Request access to our Facebook group at “Friends of the Oaks.” Any resident having an issue or problem that they would like to discuss with managers, please call the office at 813-986-3651 and set up an appointment on a Tuesday or Wednesday between the hours of 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

We will continue to have the extra roll-off dumpster for large items that you need to dispose of until

February 28th. After this time the dumpster will be removed from property and then any large items will need to be moved from your site at your own expense so take advantage of the extra dumpster while we have it this month. Please call the office to let us know that you have items that need to go in this dumpster and we will schedule a time that the staff can meet you to dump your items

Remember, we are a family community that has children in our park and they are not focusing on traffic within the park so please drive the speed limit and stop completely at all stop signs.

We have signed a contract with a towing company, so going forward, please park in your designated

parking space and not any other place that is not designated as parking in the community. After tagging notification, improperly parked vehicles will be towed at the owners expense

FYI: We try to read the water meters around the 11th or 12th of each month and we send out monthly rent statements for the next month by the 20th of the month so you have plenty of time to bring your rent to the office before it is due on the 1st . If the 20th falls on a weekend, then it will be delivered to your home the following business day. Please pay your rent and utilities on time to avoid a late fee of $45.00 and also a $6.00 per day late fee. Thanks to all of you who pay your rent and utilities on time. We appreciate you being so prompt in taking care of this matter. As we have stated in prior newsletters, we will not accept a partial payment from anyone as of January 1, 2018. Lastly, when you write your check/money order, please make sure it is payable to the correct entity. For Example: If you live in Terrace Crossings then make

the check/money order payable to Terrace Crossings.

If you are renting from Park Place, then make the check/money order for the rent payable to Park Place and make the check/ money order for the utilities payable to Terrance Crossings.

We hope this clears up any misunderstanding that you have from the past.

Don’t forget that you are supposed to have your 2018 mobile home registration decals posted on the window closest to the roadway. Please make sure you remove all previous year decals.

Representatives from the Tax Collector’s office will be on property in March to issue notices to homeowners without decals. Decal renewals notices were mailed late October 2017.

DON’T FORGET

YOUR ‘SWEETIE’

ON VALENTINE’S

DAY!!!

VALENTINE’S DAY “FACTS”

On Valentine's Day, 2009, 39,897 couples,

friends and families got together in Mexico City, and kissed for 10 seconds. It's the world record for the most simultaneous kisses.

73% of people who buy flowers for Valentine’s Day are men, while only 27 percent are women.

Alexander Graham Bell applied for a patent for the telephone, on Valentine's Day, 1876.

While in prison for performing Christian marriages, St. Valentine befriended Julia, the daughter of the jailer. When the emperor Claudius discovered that he was still preaching Christianity from his jail cell, he was executed (270 A.D.). In his last letter to the jailer's daughter before his execution, he signed it "From your Valentine", which is where the holiday got its name.

The Chinese New Year is celebrated

February 16 this year.

2018 is the “year of the dog.”

February 2nd is the day the Groundhog – Punxsutawney Phil – comes out of his burrow on Gobbler’s Knob after a long winter sleep to look for his shadow. If he sees it, he

regards it as an omen of six more weeks of bad weather and returns to his hole.

NFL SUPER BOWL LII

Teams still TBD!

February 4, 6:30 p.m. on CBS

Super Bowl 52 will be hosted in the city of Minneapolis, Minnesota at U.S. Bank Stadium, Minneapolis

Justin Timberlake will perform at halftime. PRESIDENTS' DAY (February 19) is intended to honor all the American presidents, but most significantly George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. Their birthdays were celebrated separately until 1968 when Congress created a uniform system of federal Monday holidays and shifted three existing holidays (including Washington's Birthday) to Mondays. The law took effect in 1971, and as a result, Washington's Birthday holiday was changed to the third Monday in February and renamed Presidents’ Day.
