Just a quick reminder to par cipate in the Tell Them From Me survey. We welcome feedback and this survey
gives you the opportunity to drive us forward into 2020. Ms Skehan has included details in the newsle er to
make it as easy as possible for you to have your say.

Woolworths Earn and Learn
We have received our selection of products we were
able to choose from all of the points we gained with the
Earn and Learn stickers. Our school is very grateful to
our fabulous community for shopping at Woolworths
and collecting the stickers. The photo shows all of the
products we were able to select for our school and
preschool. Our students will have great fun with some
of the new STEM products!
NAIDOC NEWS
We would like to invite our Aboriginal families, parents, carers and the community to
discuss the installa on of our NAIDOC rock garden and future events. The mee ng will
take place on Friday 25th October (Week 2) in 5/6E at 8:15am. We look forward to
seeing you there.
Wannabees Excursion
Last term as part of our Health unit, ‘Nutri on and Health’ Stage 1 travelled to Hornsby to visit Wannabees Family Play Town. Wannabees is a unique indoor theme park that exhibits a child size city featuring fire and police sta ons, hospital, post office, supermarket, café and more. Students were given the opportunity to dress up and role‐play workers in the community. Children got to put out a fire with a fire hose, work at a Pizzeria, deliver parcels around the city and provide first aid to pa ents in the medical centre.
Wannabees gave them a unique opportunity to become more aware of what workers do daily in their jobs. The children really enjoyed the experience and had lots of fun role‐playing workers in the community.
Tell Them From Me ‐ Parent survey
The Tell Them From Me suite of surveys is now open. This survey will help our school understand parents’ and carers’ perspec ves on their child’s experience at school. Your responses will provide valuable feedback which will help our school make decisions in the future.
The survey is conducted online, you can complete it on smartphones, iPads, tablets, laptops or computers. It will take about 15 minutes or less to complete and is completely confiden al. The survey can be completed between now and 25 October 2019. Although par cipa ng in the survey is en rely voluntary, your responses are very much appreciated.

Woolworths Cricket Blast Gala
Last term students from Stage 2 and 3 were selected to represent CSPS at the Woolworths Cricket Blast Gala Day held at
Feighan Oval, Warners Bay. The students were split into teams of 8 players and given team names. There were 36 teams
par cipa ng including other teams from Biddabah and Edgeworth. Across the expanses of the ovals 18 games of modified
T20 Blast games took place simultaneously, it was a sight to behold!
It was a fantas c day out with our friends. There was music pumping while we played which made it a more enjoyable expe‐
rience. The games were filled with big hits, classic catches and sensa onal bowling!
Thanks to Mr J and Miss Murray for organising our teams and entering our school. We hope that CSPS can be involved in this
event again as it was a great experience.
Madi D and Riley W
During spelling mastery classes in term 3, stage 2 and 3 have been learning new spelling rules, new vocabulary and a whole lot more.
During these lessons, We, (Madison Dykes, Ben Hartley, Brodie Spamer and Lucas Wise) have created poems using our new‐ly learned spelling rules and words. Please enjoy!
Lucas was malicious and very coarse
He always acted like a spiteful horse
His nose augmented every me he told a lie
Un l the point of dismay when he thought he would die
It was so he y he cried every twilight
But on this one peaceful eve he got a pleasant fright
It began to dwindle gradually like a feather
To the end of his colossal nose’s leisure
Lucas was certain he would never distort
Well, that is what we all personally thought
He started anew, began to slyly deceit
This me it wasn’t his nose but rather his feet
His big, fe d toes began to expand
And has ly a er his shaken, sweaty hand
His paltry frame became gigan c
His unknowing parents started to panic
The confused household became an alarming place
and sadly next up it was his face
His eyes swelled and amplified
His ears expansion made him elephan ed
His mouth dilated and felt like rubber
All that came out was a muffled blubber
He was horrifyingly screamed at and considered a creep
An ugly monster was there, a soul was cast deep

There once was a rat whose quest was to find
The legendary gold rat’s grotesque behind
He swam through a deep ocean lake
And started to hallucinate
A er he got bi en by a water snake
But legend has it that the rat’s fat tush
Could cure any suffering with a loud SQUAPOOSH!
And just as it got to the legendary castle
He received a colossal parcel
And inside lay a mat
Touched, he transformed into a naked mole rat
The castle doors were as locked as a rig
But he knew all he had to do was dig
And in the castle he did find
The legendary gold rat’s hideous behind
He was definitely not impressed
For the condi on was not at its best
He went back home full of sorrow
Not a thought would come tomorrow.

C lima c ba les raging everywhere.
A ggressive shouts far and near.
M orgues filling by the dozen.
O asis of bullets flying through the air.
F u le best describes the world, any civilian would say.
L acerated skin covers the fallen.
A nnihilated buildings fill the gloomy streets.
U nconscious, at best is the state of many.
G houls of the heroes roam our world.
E ffervescent young souls being laid to rest.

Joy was temperamental and was extremely
pessimis c,
But the only thing keeping her sane was being
unrealis c,
Beneath the surface her blood curdled and boiled
un l she soon became extremely disembroiled.
VOILA she would shout, for I am in law.
She would claw the court chamber un l the judge was soon on the floor.
