EDUCATION WEEK ACTIVITIES

Theme for

2019 Education

Week:

Every student,

every voice

Next week is going to be very busy. It is Education Week! We will be travelling to Griffith for KROP performances on Thursday and Friday. Attached to the newsletter today is an itinerary and permission slips. We are all very excited to perform and share this special accomplishment with you. Tickets are still available and they can be purchased from the Griffith Regional Theatre if you would like to attend.

Education Week is a state-wide annual event that celebrates public education in NSW with an emphasis on students, educators and the communities that support them. Education Week 2019 will highlight student empowerment, agency and ownership of education under the theme “Every student, every voice”.

It is an important message that underpins NSW Edu-cation’s ambition for every student within the public school system to be known, valued and cared for, and gives us the opportunity to reflect on the valuable role student voice has in creating engaged citizens who will thrive beyond the school gates.

TRIVIA CORNER

Megan Waters was the winner of our children’s trivia from last week and Josh Hawkins, Ryan Waters, Matilda Osborne and Chloe Andrews also answered correctly. In Australia the first day of August is recognised as the birthday of all horses. There were no correct answers in the adult trivia. The city previously known as both Byzantium and Constan-tinople is Istanbul. Good luck with this week’s questions:

Adult question: How many teams currently compete in the NRL?

Children’s question: According to Mary Poppins, how much did it cost to feed the birds?
