Let’s read!

Literacy: an article about weather in each season in different countries

The seasons and the weather are different around the world. When it’s winter in the north of the world, it’s summer in the south of the world. Where are these children? What’s the weather like today? What do they want to do?

Sammy is in South America. She’s at the top of a mountain in Peru. It’s summer. It’s cloudy today but it isn’t raining.

It’s winter in the USA. It’s sunny and it isn’t very cold. Kevin isn’t wearing a scarf. He is on a red sledge. It’s great fun!

It’s winter in Russia. It isn’t snowing but it’s cold. Ivan is wearing a jacket, a hat and a scarf. In winter, children can’t go fishing. They go ice fishing!

It’s summer in Australia. Carrie is on the beach. It’s hot and sunny. It isn’t windy and the sea is calm.

1 Look. What different weather can you see?

2 X:XX Listen and read. Then say who.

1 He’s wearing a hat and scarf. He’s fishing.

2 She’s at the top of a mountain.
