At TELUS World of Science – Edmonton (TWOSE), inspiration is guaranteed for your next event. Our unique facility offers a world within a world. Every occasion is interactive, memorable and engaging. TWOSE offers multi-level, floor to sky windows and has the ideal atmosphere for cocktail functions, luncheons or dinners. Our Skywalk and Lobby are perfect reception spaces. From there, move on to a dramatic presentation in the IMAX Theatre, a planetarium show in the Margaret Zeidler Star Theatre, or a team-building activity in The Science Garage. We offer a variety of amenities, interactive and engaging displays, and entertaining spaces to captivate the imagination. You can do exclusive, after-hours rentals of our facility, or use specific spaces while the centre is open to the public. Dramatic reception spaces combined with the inspiring experience of the science centre makes for a memorable event.

Main Areas

Sweeping floor to sky windows create a world of welcome in the lower level Lobby. An inviting and inspirational reception space, it includes the main Lobby area and continues around the facility into the IMAX queuing and Café areas. A perfect place for appreciating, and welcoming people, it’s easy to include any of our Theaters or Exhibit Galleries in your event. The Skywalk overhead provides a unique feel to the area.

Kinetic Hall is a large, open hall located on the second floor. A curved interior makes for customized event staging with a multitude of booths and stations. Windows line the west wall offering a view of the courtyard. Catering and loading in is a breeze with an accessible, upper level loading bay to the hall. Go on to build your event out onto the Skywalk for your sign in and reception. The Kinetic Hall provides private event space in the midst of the science centre at all times during the day.

Lofty, spacious and luxurious, the dramatic Skywalk reception space overlooks the lobby area and is full of natural light. The Skywalk’s sophisticated atmosphere is perfect for after-hours receptions as guests enjoy a bird’s eye view of the centre. The Skywalk corridor can accommodate sign-ins, sit-down dinners, or stand-up receptions for awe-inspiring, after-hours occasions.

If you are looking for somewhere new and exciting to hold your next offsite meeting, the Boardroom is the perfect setting. Intimate and professional, the room offers a view of Coronation Park and you are steps away from the Space Place gallery. A great place to host breakfast or luncheon meetings, an attached kitchenette makes catering convenient.

The Starlight Room is ideal for upscale and unique events. A turn-key event space equipped with a variety of chairs and tables, the Starlight Room shines with a star-lit ceiling, and access to the Margaret Zeidler Star Theatre. Perfect for client appreciations or special presentations, the Starlight Room can accommodate a private dinner, reception or classroom setting. The space is secluded from the hustle of the exhibit galleries, and the unique ceiling sparkles with stars.

Theatres

Put your next awe-inspiring presentation

on Alberta’s largest screen. This theatre is

a unique presentation venue for nearly

any form of media presentations and

private film screenings. Add excitement

and use the theatre for a private viewing

of any of the films in our IMAX library. The

IMAX laser projector is used for

presentations and the sound system

provides 17,000 watts of power. A

customized lectern with data hook-ups

and microphone can be raised and lowered from the in-floor lift. You’ve never seen your

Edmonton’s only planetarium, this unique space provides shows on a 360-degree full dome screen. This round theatre with a 45-foot domed ceiling is a popular place for press conferences, product launches, weddings and any event that calls for a distinctive, one-of-a-kind venue. Multiple projectors enhance your presentation and the stage in the center of the theatre provides 360-degrees of engagement with the audience. Include a private showing of any of the shows in our library or get a personalized presentation on the night sky.

The Science Demonstration Stage has rounded, theatre style bench seating. With AV capabilities, it’s perfect for seminars, presentations and demonstration performances. Our staff scientists are available to conduct a variety of private, science demonstrations.

Classrooms

The Winspear Learning Centre features three classrooms. Available for use as seminar rooms, training or meeting rooms that can sit up to 36 people per room. The rooms feature a removable wall that can be folded out to join the rooms together to form a large room.

This lab features a variety of workstations, making it perfect for small training sessions or seminars. Surrounded by the inspiration of Space Place, the lab is adjacent to the Boardroom.

Exhibit Galleries

Space Place is all about the thrill of exploring the Wild Black Yonder. Stroll through the space station and tackle problems and challenges that are out-of-this-world! The gallery is home to several foreign items, including a real rock from the Moon and a meteorite.

Discoveryland is the early childhood development gallery and features lots of exciting activities to explore, entice and spark the imagination of visitors 8 years and under. The interactive destination features four unique areas to spark any young child’s imagination to promote creative learning through play. Each area is designed based on research showing activities and interactions which help early childhood development.

The award-winning Syncrude Environment Gallery features interactive exhibits unique to our centre. The centerpiece of the gallery is Science on a Sphere - an iconic 6-foot diameter projection system used to visually enhance presentations on environmental science. Four other areas of the gallery present interactive exhibits among four themes: Ice Detectives, Rock Hounds, Eco-Explorers, and Storm Trackers.



Immerse yourself in the carnival of "The Body Fantastic" where large 3-dimensional models let you experience how our bodies work, how our brains make sense of the world around us and, best of all, everything weird about our bodies in the Gallery of the Gross! The Body Fantastic is also home to RoboThespian™.



The Science Garage is a bright and energetic space that encourages guests to create, compete, tinker, test and build their way through a variety of physically and mentally stimulating tasks and challenges. Inside this highly interactive space you can bust a move on the Kinetic Dance Floor, strike a pose for the Frozen Shadow Wall, get a lesson in angular momentum when you traverse the Freedom Climber Wall, design your own flying aircraft and test it at the Vertical Wind Tunnels or learn all about potential and kinetic energy at the Magnetic Ball Wall. You can also roll up your sleeves and put your imagination to work at The Science Garage’s dedicated Maker Space: The Workshop. The Workshop comes equipped with several work benches and is fully stocked with building materials. Our staff scientists are available to facilitate projects and experiments.

This 16,000 square foot Exhibition Hall with connecting walkway, was built to better accommodate travelling exhibitions to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Attracting blockbuster travelling exhibitions, such as STAR WARS™ Identities, BODY WORLDS: The Cycle of Life, Indiana Jones and the Adventure of Archaeology, Harry Potter™: The Exhibition, Dinosaurs Unearthed, Beyond Rubik’s Cube, and The International Exhibition of Sherlock Holmes.

Entire Facility Rental

Turn our science centre into your private event with an entire facility rental (excluding the Feature Exhibition Hall). Use as many of our permanent themed galleries and public spaces as you see fit! The unique setting creates a memorable, lasting event as the galleries can enhance your programming. The unique layout of the facility provides many options for building an exciting event that will be talked about for years. You can also add interpretive programs or shows in our theatres.
