I wanted to become a doctor or a librarian. What do you like most and least about your profession? What I like most in my profession is daily communicaon with children. Every day, the teacher gives but also gets. I receive a lot of posive energy and emoons – the kids make me feel up-to-date, they bring me sasfacon and movate me to work more and beer. Somewhere I read: ‘A happy person is the one who works what he loves doing; a person who has made their pasme a profession. This way he never goes to work. Well, I can say I’m a happy person. What I don’t like is the students geng more and more unmannerly and less movated about obtaining new knowledge. That’s why we, the pedagogues, have to work harder to raise their movaon. For a teacher molds people, sculptures personalies, creates a future. How did you meet your husband? We met by accident, through mutual acquaintances. Tell us about a dream of yours, whether come true or not. Many of my dreams came true – I have a lovely child, I love my work, I do the things that make me feel really happy. However, people dream all their lives and I keep doing it every day! What are the most important things for you? Health, family, my relaves, friendship, freedom, knowledge, love. BEST JACK-O-LANTERN CONTEST

HALLOWEEN 2013

This year’s fabulous Halloween party took place in the Fly Plati-num Club on 31

st October.

Hosts of the event were the students from 10 A.

After allowing the guests to

enter the club, Alex and Dinko

had the task to escort them to

the table of each class. Among

the masked guests, stuck out

some interesting costumes: the

Indian – Evgenia Nikova, the

geisha - Petya Georgieva.

There were a few villains like

The Death presented by Jovi-

an , The Joker – Georgi

Georgiev and the doll from

Saw – Ioana Dimitrova.

When everyone was seated, the show prepared by 10a began. The hosts – Petya and Ventsi welcomed the guests and invited to the stage Valentina and Anna, who had to announce the rules of the first game “Guess the horror movie” . Each class had to present one student which would have to explain with gestures the movie to their classmates. All of the films were rec-ognized except from the film “Dead Girl”. Ioana Dimitrova ex-plained the movie „The Texas Chain Saw Massacre” easily, but faster reactions had Elena Zaharieva who managed to recog-nize The Exorcist with the speed of light. After the game Dimitat, Liuben, Denica and Evgenia took over the stage and performed Girl On Fire, followed by the contest Scariest Jack’O Lantern. The judges – Stanislav, Stela and Bozhidar, gave the award to the pumpkin of 12a.

WHERE ARE THEY NOW? The stories of successful Hristo Botev Secondary School graduates

Iskra Mandova-Stoyanova, graduated in 2000

I spent 12 years studying at Hristo Botev Secondary School – the last five in

an English class. I remember all my teachers and I am extremely grateful for

their professionalism, wonderful attitude towards us – their students, and the

knowledge they passed on to us. What I will never forget are my classmates

– united, a bit impetuous but all of us were straight A students. I obtained a

degree in Applied Linguistics – English and Chinese, then a MA in English

philology and a PhD in Medieval History. At the moment I am a Senior

Lecturer at the Classical and Eastern Languages and Cultures Department at

Veliko Turnovo University St.St. Cyril and Methodius. I am also a member of

the Academic Council and Philological Faculty Council. I was head of the

Centre for Chinese Language and Culture for 8 years. Since 2012 I have been

the head of Confucius Institute.

Ivanka Papazova, graduated in 1997

I work at the Anglo American School in Sofia and one of my duties includes publishing a

school newspaper :) English has been the love of my life, ever since I started studying it in

the 8 prep class at Hristo Botev Secondary School. I have a lovely daughter - Mia, who is

seven years old.

Polina Mihaleva, graduated in 2013

I graduated high school "Hristo Botev" and I was in English class. At first when I studied English it

was interesting, sometimes we had more than 6 classes English for one day. We had English

classes every day, but our teacher was good, funny and kind person and everything was good for

us. The next year we got a new English teacher, I was scared, but when we got used to her,

things got better. My classmates were so funny, I went to the school with desire, especially in the

last year, I have wonderful memories from my last year at school, even though we were preparing

for our final exams, we always had time for fun. I miss my old friends and the days with them, miss

my ex teachers, because I learned a lot of things from them. Now I thank them for everything that

they told me. I realize that they were right. Now I study at military university "Vasil Levski" and one

of my entrance exams was an English test. I don't feel sorry for my choice. I like this place and most of the things

that I do every day. If you want to be there you need to be self-controlled, to have a strong character, to have a

brave heart and others. I thank my teachers, because they helped me to be strong and to learn some of the most

important lessons in my life.
