First Grade Language Arts Standard 8: Writing-students write

daily o communicate effectively for a variety of purposes and audiences.

Writing Unit: Obj. 2a, 3ab Create imaginative narrative text Publish work

As a class we wrote a narrative story. Added detail to the story. Corrected spelling. Understood beginning, middle and end. Each student illustrated one page of the

story. Made the photostory. Bound the original drawings into a book.

We took pictures of their illustrations and uploaded them to photostory.

Then we had each student narrate their page.

We added music in the background and “presto” their story was now a movie.

We connected the laptop to the projector and watched the photostory on the “big screen.”

Technology really enhanced this lesson. Students were excited to write the

story, and illustrate pages.
