Making Inferences
Technology Enhanced LessonBy: Louisa Pratt
Curriculum
Language ArtsStandard #7, Objective 2, Indicator EThe students will learn and practice
how to make inferences using textual clues.
Technology
I integrated technology into my lesson by having students participate in a class quiz which I found online.
I was able to project the entire quiz onto and LCD screen.
Positives and Negatives
PositivesThe students all had
access to the information.
The students were all able to participate
The students were able to read the text to make inferences
themselves rather than just being told.
NegativesI wish that the students
would have been able to have their own computers so that
they could have taken the quizzes
individually or as a small group.
Student Use of Technology
The students had access to the technology as a whole class. They were able to see the quiz and the answers projected onto the screen.
Technology Use is Essential
While using technology was essential in my lesson it did make the lesson more fun and interactive for my students.
The students really enjoyed being able to take a quiz that was online.
During the practicum I noticed the students loved using the computer so I knew that it would be a good way for them to pay attention and enjoy the lesson.

Focus on Learning Task
I liked using the quiz because it only emphasized and helped the students to practice making inferences.
The focus of my lesson was to teach students about inferences and I think the quiz was a good way to make it interactive without taking away from the focus.
Added ValueI think that whenever you can use
technology in your lessons you really should.
I think that the students were able to pay better attention to my lesson because they were engaged and therefore were able to learn a lot more.
