been recognized since independence.

During that period it was not much developed

but now it has achieved significant growth.

Technological efforts have to underpin the

growth of industry, services etc so that economy

becomes globally competitive.

utilisation of by-products.

Poor financial situations and low levels of

R&D.

Poor adaptability to changing trade trends.

Desire to avoid risk.

Non-availability of technically trained

The domestic R&D system and the industrial

enterprises are the two main players in the

technology-industry interface . Now R&D has

become market driven . So Indian Government

has

also started many schemes and has givenfinancial

help in its 11th five year plan.

CAPITAL SUBSIDY SCHEME FOR

TECHNICAL UPGRADATION

•The scheme would facilitate technology

upgradation by induction of proven technologiesin respect of specified products/ sub sectors.

•It is not applicable to units going for upgradation

with second hand machinery.

•Entrepreneurs availing of this scheme shouldnot avail of any other benefit.



FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR

TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENTIN SMALL SCALE SECTOR

1. In India it has been difficult for SSIs to raisefunds.

2. The venture capital funds do provide finance

for SSIs , but their coverage has been verysmall.

3.The financial institutions like SIDBI , banksand ICICI play a crucial role.

way but a lot of is expected from entrepreneurs

SSIs industry itself.
