This PowerPoint presentation was used during a lesson with 2 nd graders on “Properties and Motion.” I created it as a guide through the lesson so that everyone could see what we were discussing, and even so that some pictures could be displayed for certain topics. Because the school has SmartBoards*, I was able to have the children be interactive with the PowerPoint by writing answers on it each slide. The children loved this and it dramatically increased the amount of volunteers for answers. *Although I was able to make quite a few SmartBoard activities, I was unable to use these because they were on the school computer and not my own. However, I did use the SmartBoard a lot in my classroom at least 2-3 times a day for different lessons.

This PowerPoint presentation was used during a lesson with 2nd graders on “Properties and Motion.” I created it as a guide through the lesson so that everyone could see what we were

discussing, and even so that some pictures could be displayed for certain topics. Because the school has SmartBoards*, I was able to

have the children be interactive with the PowerPoint by writing answers on it each slide. The children loved this and it

dramatically increased the amount of volunteers for answers.

*Although I was able to make quite a few SmartBoard activities, I was unable to use these because they were on the school computer and not my own. However, I did use the SmartBoard a lot in my classroom at least 2-3 times a day for different lessons.

Force is the push or pull of an object.

Page 12: Technological Presentation - LP PwrPt Supplement - Fall 2011

Forces can be light or strong.

The amount of effort given to a push or pull can be soft or hard which will make

the force light or strong.

Can something small exert a strong force?

Page 13: Technological Presentation - LP PwrPt Supplement - Fall 2011

Will an object with a strong force move faster or slower than an object

with a soft force?

What happens when you put a lot of force on an object?

Page 14: Technological Presentation - LP PwrPt Supplement - Fall 2011

When you PUSH something, it will move away from you.

If you PULL something, it will move closer to you.
