Test equipment NameTest probe (Mat. no. 1.006.2583)

Collet chuck tester (Mat. no. 1.009.3944)

Test mandrel (Mat. no. 0.410.0824)

Revolution counter

Spray test drill (Mat. no. 0.410.1933)

Check Test equipment ProcedureCheck repair documents and ID ▪ Check product ID, type, and se‐

rial number.Carry out a visual inspection ▪ Carry out a general visual in‐

spection of external condition.

• There should be no visual evi‐dence of external damage.

Check the chuck ▪ Test drill ▪ Insert the test bur into the chuckand pull it out.

▪ It must be easy to insert and re‐move.

▪ Retention force gauge ▪ Use a retention force gauge tomeasure the axial retentionforce of the chuck.

▪ Axial retention force: at least 17N (used)

▪ Axial retention force: at least 22N (after replacement)

Check the guide bushing ▪ Plug gauge ▪ Use the plug gauge to check thedimensional accuracy of theguide bushing.

▪ The diameter must not exceed1.609 mm.

Check for absence of leakage ▪ Leakage air hose ▪ Apply pressure to the mediachamber (2 bar) and pressure-test the spray bore hole for 15seconds.

• The pressure of the compressedair must remain constant.

Check push-button chuck ▪ Test probe ▪ Insert the test probe into thepush-button chuck.

• It must be easy to insert and re‐move.

4 Checks | 4.1 Test of the SMARTtorque Turbine S608 C

Check Test equipment Procedure▪ Retention force gauge ▪ Use a retention force gauge to

measure the axial retentionforce of the chuck.

• Axial retention force: at least 17N

Check the hose coupling ▪ Turbine hose ▪ Check if hose coupling attachesand detaches properly.

▪ Check if the hose coupling iseasy to screw-on.

Check the power ▪ Test device ▪ Measure the air consumptionunder test conditions (drive airpressure 2.2 bar).- Air consumption: 35 to 55

Nl/min▪ Revolution counter ▪ Measure idle speed under test

conditions.- Idle speed: at least 380,000

rpmCheck speed characteristics ▪ Test probe ▪ With the test probe in the turbine

and at maximum speed, applyslight axial and radial pressureseveral times.

• No additional noise should beheard and the speed should re‐main constant.

Check concentricity ▪ Test probe ▪ Run the turbine with the testprobe under test conditions andascertain the effect of drill ec‐centricity while applying slightradial pressure.

• There should be no noticeablevibrations or running noise.

Perform a spray test ▪ Test device ▪ Measure air and water flowrates under test conditions.- Water quantity: at least

50 ml/min▪ Spray test drill ▪ Carry out a visual inspection of

the spray mist.

• The spray jet should hit the ballof the spray test drill.
