The thermal energy is measured in kcal (kWh or MWh)1 kcal = is the energy necessary to raise up

1 °C temperature of 1 kg of water

If we want to bring 50 liters (50 kg) of water from 10 °C temperature to 40 °C, we have

cp x G x Δt = 1 x 50 x 30 = 1500 kcal = 1,74 kWhIt is equal to use one hour radiator of 1500 kcal/h, which is aproximately 0,15 € (for traditional GPL boiler)

How to deliver the kit

The Energy Box module is supplied without flow meters and without liters gauges to avoid any theft in the jobsite. The box is in zinc metal with key lock.

+

It is necessary to complete it with the DIRECT reading devices or with M-BUS net readers.

Components and operation

The motorized 4 ways valves it is operated by a room thermostat.

When the thermostat give the signal to open the valve, the water enter in the lodging and the calories meters quantify the energie consumption.

The differential by-pass realize the pressure drops as a 4 ways valve completely opened. This in order to stabilize the flow conditions of the centralized plant. The Y filter it is fundamental for the circuit starting for the cleaning of the plant. Might be substituted by a balancing valve (optionl)Successively must be installed the energie meters and calories counters

The reading consumption of heating (hot/cold water) and sanitary water (hot/cold water) can be done in two ways:

Directly from the display (DIRECT READ)

Sending the data to a central station (M-Bus NET)

The MID DirectiveThe MID Directive

2004/22/CE Directive from the European Parliament and 31 March 2004 council related to the measuring instruments.

• In March of 2004 the European Parliament issued the directive 2004/22/CE (MID).

• The directive is applied to the devicethe device and to system with measuring functions which are defined in the specific attachments, related to water gaugeswater gauges, gas gauges and volume conversion, active electric energy counters and measure transformers, heat gaugesheat gauges, continuous and dynamic flow measuring systems different from water, automatic weight measuring systems, taximeters, dimension measuring systems, exhaust gas measuring gauges.

• The scope of the directive is to protect the final consumer which commercial transactions are connected to this instruments.

2004/22/CE Directive of the European Parliament and 31 March 2004 Council related to the measuring instruments.

• The directive foresee that the manufacturer accredit the counter gauge with a new mark: CE-M (totally different from CE mark).

• The CE-M mark certify the quality, the precision, the conformity of the counter gauge and the minimum parameters that grant the constancy of the precision, etc… protecting the consumers and the commercial deals.

It is necessary for the connection of maximum 2 counter liters to the M-Bus net

Use 2 wires cables

Maximum length: 10 meters

Transform a signal arriving from a counter liters (1 impulse = 10 liters) in a M-Bus signal

To be configured with MBCONF Software and Micro-Master device

Pad A Battery: lasting 18 days/year for 10 years

The battery must be activated !!!

The adaptor must be activated opening the upper part of the terminal cover and positioning the jumper on both pins

It works in case there is a current shot down!

M-Bus net lenght

The signal must not be distorted.

An important matter is the lenght of the net (The sum of all the cables lenghts).

Lower the reading speed of the data (Baud rate), the longer could be the wiring net.

Max net lenght 1 km 4 km 12 km

- Connect the PC to the Micro-Master

- Connect the Micro-Master to the device (Impulses Adaptor or Calories Counter), using the “M-Bus net” contacts still free.

- Using the MBCONF software, assign a 3 digits code to each periferical items (Liters Counter or Calories Counter). This code is the PRIMARY ADDRESS

- The software automatically recognize for each devices the correspondent “serial number” (it is an 8 digit number). This code is the SECONDARY ADDRESS

- Using the software FSERVICE find out each devices- Export the data in an excel file

NOTE: the periferical devices transmit the data with a certain speed called BAUD (“changings”/sec). For the searching it is important set up a speed field (baudrate) between 300 and 2400 baud, to have the security to find all the connected devices.
