2.6 BOMAG COLD PLANERS AND THEIR MILLING POWER*

Cold planers can be classifi ed according to their operat-ing weight, engine output, working width and milling depth. This determines the milling performance that is important for the operator. The following diagrams show theoretical area performances* in m²/h for the respective categories of cold planers in relation to the

milling depth, advance speed and asphalt strength. For example, a BM 500/15 compact planer can achieve an advance rate of approximately 15 m/min and therefore a milling output of approximately 450 m²/h on soft asphalt with a milling depth of 4 cm.
