TCU Frog Job Shadow Program FAQs

Why should I participate?To explore career options prior to graduation. The professionals who have agreed to volunteer their time can provide insight into careers that you have an interest in or may not have considered. Additionally, while this is NOT an interview, the professionals you meet are industry contacts who may be able to assist you later when searching for an internship or job.

Will I get paid?Job shadow experiences are unpaid as they are provided as a career exploration activity for you. There is no academic credit associated with this program.

Do I need to provide my own transportation in order to participate?Students are responsible for travel and any non-reimbursable expenses they may incur in choosing to participate the Frog Job Shadow program.

Am I guaranteed to be selected?TCU Center for Career and Professional Development cannot guarantee pairing of a student to an organization. If not selected, we will be happy to work with you to identify alternate options.

How will I learn if I have been selected to participate? Students will be notified of their selection by the Career Center after the employers have confirmed their selections. Shortly thereafter, either the Career Center or a company representative will contact you, for those who are accepted, regarding logistical next steps including your contact’s name, your arrival/departure time, driving directions and parking instructions.

How are students selected to participate?Apply to one opportunity that you are interested in by using FrogJobs powered by Handshake. Apply early! The deadline to apply is noon, Friday, September 27th.

How should I prepare for the job shadow day?Students are required to participate in a mandatory online orientation. You will not be allowed to participate (even if you are selected) if you do not do so. Selected participants will be provided logistical details about orientation closer to the event date.

What are the benefits of participating in Frog Job Shadow Program?Participating in the Frog Job Shadow Program will provide you an opportunity to learn about different company cultures and career paths. This will also be an invaluable networking opportunity for you to meet the company’s professionals and recruiters.
