Tim sits up in operations amongst all the fleet managers. Feel free to stop in and see him if you are ever in the office. He would love to help you out in any way he can.

Tim joined Taylor Truck Line just a few short months ago in October and is in charge of managing fleet operations. He has been actively working on streamlining the proc-esses here at Taylor to improve how our fleet managers train and operate.

Before he started at Taylor Tim began his career as an operational specialist for the Navy. Don’t let his non-civilian time scare you off however because he is actually very nice to talk to and does not curse like a sailor.

Tim lives far away from Northfield in Eden Prairie, MN with his wife Kerry and their two children: Isa-bella and Maya.

In the office Tim is helping the fleet managers improve their driver’s performance. His focus is on setting up goals for the fleet managers to achieve, and improving the interactions be-tween them and the other sec-tions of operations.

Tim’s favorite band is “The Suburbs”, an alternative punk rock/funk/new wave band from Minneapolis, MN that was popular in the late 70’s and most of the 80’s. He loves cars and is in the middle of restoring his 1950 Pontiac Chieftain.

CornBag Tournament Going For A Strong Finish Every Thursday members of Tay-lor Truck Line get together at the Northfield Ballroom and partici-pate in the fiercely competitive Cornbag Tournament. Teams of 2 compete and play several games against the other teams to earn points.

The leader for the first 3 weeks was the team of Melanie and Dan who have won 13 of their first 15 games! Bringing up the rear is Katie Bengen’s team. They have

just won a single game so far but Katie is confident their fortunes will turn around for the last series of games.

Spectators are always welcome to cheer on the participants and will even get to play if a sub is needed. There is usually a month break in between tournaments, so if you missed being in this one make sure you sign up when it comes back around. Good luck to everyone involved and have fun!

Winter driving is now upon us in full force during the month of February. While some areas in the South will see rising tem-peratures during the month, most places in the US will just see more snow and freezing tem-peratures.

What this means is that you need to be extra observant of the weather and road conditions of the states you are driving in and out of. Freezing rain can be

especially problematic because a road will seem good to drive on until it is too late and you lose traction.

Quick thinking and a healthy following distance helped James Mcclaskey in truck #7538 avoid a multi truck accident off of I80 in Iowa. As soon as he saw the poor conditions he was in he decreased his speed and in-creased the distance between him and the next vehicle. The

Our featured driver for this month is Omotoso Goodlin. He has been with our company for one whole year and is enjoying his time here at Taylor.

time meal. I decided to split my meal up by getting boneless buf-falo wings and a hot ham and cheese sand-wich.

The wings were similar to what can be found at an Applebee's or Chili’s but tasted much better. The sauce was not overpowering and the chicken was moist and flavorful.

On earlier occasions we have gotten the pizza to share. Pizza is their specialty and it shows in the number and variety of toppings. The one that stood out for us the most was the Buffalo Chicken pizza. Be aware if you order it though, the buffalo sauce can be quite strong and is not a subtle pizza.

There is very little to knock about B&L Pizza; it is a fine establishment and one that every-body should check out. - Aaron B.

This month’s adventure takes us to downtown Northfield for the gastronomic establishment of B&L’s Pizza. Located right off of Division Street, B&L’s has been a favorite hangout of both locals and college transplants for years.

B&L Pizza is owned by Brad and Lula Valek. Brad is the brother of our own Brian Valek in the Northfield shop. Sadly, he is not able to get us any discounts so please don’t ask him.

While pizza is the main focus, B&L’s menu has a wide range of choices. Ranging from hot sandwiches to Italian and Greek favorites, they have something there even for the picky eaters of the world. Everything is moderately priced and won’t break the bank for those who are trying to be thrifty.

On our most recent trip there Collin decided to go with the Chicken Ranch Wrap pictured on the right. He said it had good flavor and was the perfect amount of food for a lunch-
