QUEFANS: What happen to all the songs that you did with Soulworld? (Ex. Positive Energy)

QUE: Yeah basically that project was with SoulWorld. Those songs were kinda like their songs. Those weren’t songs that I really had too much input in. So that was their music basically. The new music is like all my stuff. I had my hands on it, so the new stuff on Reverbnation, that’s all me.

QUEFANS: Oh... ok…

QUE: I think it’s like one song on there I did with them, but the majority of them songs is all me.

QUEFANS: Ok...

QUEFANS: Are you going to have any collaborations on Guitar Her*?

QUE: That’s a good question. It’s gonna be a lot of surprises with the Guitar Her* package. We’re tryna make it like a package. I don’t want to give out too many details because we are putting it together now, but uumm.. the December 11th release, after that it’s going to have like more releases like different volumes and the different volumes will feature, you know different people. I don’t want to give it away though, cause it’s a surprise!

QUEFANS: Ok…

QUEFANS: Is Guitar Her* going to be all Acoustics?

QUE: The first part is supposed to be like all acoustics. That is what we’re working on right now tryna figure out do we want to do it all acoustics. The plan was to do it all acoustics… give it an up close and personal feeling. you know, like the House of Blues type of venue, you know, shit like that. But umm... we haven’t decided if we wanna do all acoustics for the first volume or save the acoustic like for the second volume.

QUEFANS: Explain what a Power Monkey is?

Page 5: TAKE A RIDE TO THE FUTURE WITH "QUE"

QUE: Ok. So Power Monkey is basically it’s like a digital monkey. You know how Michael Jackson had a monkey, basically I’m into digital stuff like I study Kanye West… you know I’m a big fan of like digital artwork. Seeing things digitally like umm…Euphoria you know what I mean like putting your ideas out digitally. You know like Canada’s Wonderland, Willie Wonka… shit like that. Basically the Power Monkey, he’s my pet and almost like how Michael Jackson were friends with the monkey. The Power Monkey is going in digitally because for the album I wanted to do something digital. The monkey will basically be coming in, and uumm... basically, you know, me saving the world through my music and the power monkey, basically going in and umm… you know, capturing, I don’t know, well saving the world digitally. It’s weird to explain it; I don’t know (laughs). Well basically I want the digital monkey, you know if you’re a big fan of Kanye West or study Kanye West he does the video games stuff, so basically the power monkey will be my way of getting into video games, my music getting into video games along with the music part that I’m also trying to do.

QUEFANS: What are your thoughts as far as getting signed to a record label as a solo artist?

QUE: I’m actually working on that right now, funny you said that. I don’t mind getting signed to a record label. It just has to be right. . I don’t want to be someone’s slave in the system or someone’s ho. I just wanna be treated right and done right and confiscated for my songs and everything that I do. (Laughs) I just want the situation or the deal to be right. Like I don’t have a problem with going to any record label, just as long as the deal is right you know what I mean. If the deal is right, I’m with it, we can make money, we can go, we can work, but I’m not tryna back track and get myself into a deeper situation or a more fucked up situation, you know what I mean?

QUEFANS: With the industry today where sex sells do you feel any pressure in becoming a sex symbol to all the beautiful ladies, having to think that sex has to sell? Do you feel like you have to go in that direction to get attention?

QUE: No, I don’t think I have to take off my… But you know I think umm… well my music you know it’s just I want it to tell a story and I mean if it… if there’s a moment where I’m lifting up my shirt or taking off my shirt you know what I mean, then let’s go for it but I’m not trying to be a sex symbol; I’m trying to be an artist. You know I wanna be a recording artist and you know a recording artist you know… the recording artist I’m trying to be is the one who evolves you know where I don’t need to take off my shirt. I want my music to be so powerful to where I can just stand there the whole concert and if I didn’t take off my shirt they still scream you know what I mean.

Page 6: TAKE A RIDE TO THE FUTURE WITH "QUE"

QUEFANS: yeah, we do!

QUE: Like my shirt take off should be anticipation; it shouldn’t be I have to take off my shirt.

QUEFANS: right, ok, we will give you that.

Are you still going to be doing a mixtape with DJ Carisma?

QUE: We were talking about that. Me and Carisma talked about it but I want that to be… I wanna do a mixtape for Cali. So I would have to sit down and plan that and I wanna ya know take my time with that but we did talk about doing a mixtape. I gave her the hands up like the thumbs up for that so that should be coming later on down the line, but the first project, I wanted to release was the “GuitarHer” because that was ME! I wanted to finally release ME! I wanted people to get a chance to hear my music and what I really sound like. Instead of having someone else ya know tryna make me sound like this or what they think I should sound like. I wanted to do it myself, like I put my mothafu$% middle fingers up and was like f#$% everybody else, I’m gonna do excuse my language, (laughs), I’m doing this myself because I know what I’m seeing and obviously nobody else can come in my head and see what I’m seeing, so, so I don’t drive myself crazy, I got to make it come alive.

QUEFANS: And just so you know, your fans, we can’t wait for the mixtape to come out. We wanna see you express yourself, and kinda you know; let us see your gift and your talent in a new way uncensored, like we don’t want nothing... sugar-coated.

QUE: Right, like unplugged, like just raw. Right, right, right.

QUEFANS: So we are anticipating the mixtape.

Page 7: TAKE A RIDE TO THE FUTURE WITH "QUE"
Page 8: TAKE A RIDE TO THE FUTURE WITH "QUE"

What kind of student were you in high school? For example, were you popular, a nerd, a jock, or a loner?

QUE: I went to the School of the Arts. I was… popular. I was voted the cutest in the school (pauses) (laughs).

QUEFANS: (sarcastically) We are surprised Que. We are real surprised! (Laughs)

QUE: (laughs) Yall are crazy, but umm…It was a performing arts school so I was like in school plays. I was around like drama students, dancers, singers, people who play instruments. So I was kinda popular I would say.

QUEFANS: What is your fondest childhood memory?

QUE: I remember… singing “Hero” at my kindergarten graduation. That was like my first time singing in front of an audience. I was singing Mariah Carey’s song “Hero” and I remember that moment because that was like a defining moment in my life I would have to say because I got a standing ovation. That’s the first time I performed in front of people so to get a standing ovation and to rip the song how I did it to be in kindergarten… is amazing.

Page 9: TAKE A RIDE TO THE FUTURE WITH "QUE"
Page 10: TAKE A RIDE TO THE FUTURE WITH "QUE"
Page 11: TAKE A RIDE TO THE FUTURE WITH "QUE"

Tell us something about yourself that we don’t know? Cause we already know a lot about you, like who you are, where you’re from and that sort of thing, so tell us something that we don’t know.

QUE: What don’t you know about me hmm… a lot of people don’t know… a lot of people don’t know ME. I think a lot of people think they know me, but a lot of people don’t know me… don’t know Qwanell. And I think a lot of people get the misconception that I’m just this mean person and I’m really not. You know I’m very social and I like talking to people. I don’t like when people ya know their first impression because of what they think of me, how they greet me sometimes is like, “Yo!” it’s kinda awkward it makes it weird.

QUEFANS: Outside of singing and dancing what other talents do you have?

QUE: Besides singing and dancing, what other talents do I have… hmm…?

QUEFANS: yeah, besides singing and dancing… (laughs)

QUE: I do that all the time but besides that I’m a good writer like poems, like writing stuff how I feel. I’m good at that… writing down how I feel. I like to watch football. The giants are my fav…I don’t know I like to sing and dance that’s what I like to do (laughs). I don’t do nothing but sing and dance! (laughs)

QUEFANS: (laughs)

QUE: I don’t do nothing but sing and dance! I swear I be in the mirror all day dancing and singing, I swear! Just practicing, It’s so weird! It’s very weird but that’s what I do all day most of the time, sing and dance!

QUEFANS: Ok, now you mention that you like to write poems. Do you think that is something you need to be good at to be a good writer in this industry as well?

QUE: No... Basically, you should write… writing is how you feel or poetry is how you feel. That is what I think. As long as it makes sense to you, it makes sense. As long as you get it across, and in your head it makes sense and its positive and It’s your vision, then it makes sense. That is how I look at it.

QUEFANS: Ok...

Page 12: TAKE A RIDE TO THE FUTURE WITH "QUE"

If you weren’t singing like if God didn’t make you a singer, and you weren’t gifted in singing and dancing, what would you be doing?

QUE: I would be building roller coasters because I also had a passion of being like an engineer. When I was little I wanted to be a roller coaster designer. Roller coaster engineer I wanted to build an amusement park so I would be working at an amusement park, because I have a passion for building. Even though I don’t get to be hands-on a lot I do have… I also have a passion for building. And that’s where the digital comes into play, because I like computer games. So that’s where the digital stuff will come into effect like building the amusement park, you know. You will see when it comes to light. It’s kinda hard to explain (laughs) because it’s such a big vision.

QUEFANS: yeah it is.

QUE: But once it starts piecing together more and more, you guys will understand what I’m talking about.

QUEFANS: What is something that pisses you off to the point where you just like f*ck it? Like something that you just can’t stand. What just really really makes you angry?

QUE: I don’t like when people try to make you seem like your stupid. You know what I mean like (laughs) I hate when people like beat around the bush or like say something and mean it one way and then try to say it’s another way. And you be like “Yo, you meant that this way, why are you lying. I’m not stupid.” That pisses me off.

QUEFANS: Ok... so like sarcastic people…

QUE: Not really a sarcastic person. A person who is manipulative who’s very sneaky, who know what they doing and they pretend like your stupid. They play you to be stupid, when really they doing what they doing to just to irk you. I hate people that do that. Manipulative people.

QUEFANS: What type of car is your favorite? Like muscle cars, sports cars…

QUE: I like sport cars… like a Ferrari or a Lamborghini. You know like the Corvettes, the ones that look like Ferraris. Those type of cars. Like an all black one or like a blue one a royal blue one.

What are some your pet peeves? Besides the ones you just went over, are there any more? Like people being late, or not saying “excuse me” or “thank you”, do you have any pet peeves?

QUE: No, I just don’t like negative energy. I just don’t like to come into a situation and feel uncomfortable, ya know. Even though it’s good to be in

Page 13: TAKE A RIDE TO THE FUTURE WITH "QUE"

situations we’re your uncomfortable because you got the objection to be you know try to get out so that it’s comfortable for you. But I just don’t like going into a room where there’s a whole bunch of people, you know, and everybody good, and then two people or three people walk into the room, and they change the atmosphere energy. That’s like a pet peeve; I don’t like being around negative people who always just got something negative to say.

QUEFANS: You seem to be very intuitive. Like when you walk into a room, you can pick up on peoples… auras and energy.

QUE: Right, right, right! (laughs) And I think that is because of everything that I have been through. You know, I’m so alert. I’m very alert, very sensitive and very alert. Not sensitive to like “oh my god”, but like sensitive in a way where I’m alert and I’m protecting myself. Where I’m just AWAKE!

Page 14: TAKE A RIDE TO THE FUTURE WITH "QUE"
Page 15: TAKE A RIDE TO THE FUTURE WITH "QUE"
Page 16: TAKE A RIDE TO THE FUTURE WITH "QUE"

QUEFANS: Have you figured out which one of your songs you are going to do a viral video to?

QUE: Me & Dawn we’ve been talking, we wanna do a viral video to Free Falling for sure. And umm… I might do a snippet viral video to Medicine. You know that’s a hot song right now, so, but we’re trying to do it a little differently, like another approach, like you guys said, unplugged, up close and personal. You know like those new videos I put out. Like that’s how we want the setting to be. Up close and personal, intimate, you know unplugged and then we want to record all of it so it can sound like unplugged, so “Free Falling” and probably a snippet of “Medicine”, but definitely “Free Falling”.

QUEFANS: When can we hear your debut album?

QUE: Now that should be coming I would say hmm… maybe the new quarter, top of the year. I’ve been talking to some labels. But umm I’ve been getting that together; top of the quarter, new quarter, top of the year we should definitely be getting news about labels maybe distributing and starting an album.

QUEFANS: How have you grown since you left Day26, what is different?

QUE: I don’t know I just feel free, I feel alive. I’m thankful that I am alive. I feel a relief a release off of me. And I’m just thankful, nothing negative to say about any of the guys I just feel a relief off of me and I feel normal (laughs). I’m happy. I’m very happy in the place that I am.

QUEFANS: So now that you are a solo artist how are you going to define yourself as Qwanell Mosley the solo artist than Que from Day26?

QUE: This is gonna be like the defining moment of my life. You know finally… I don’t know I think people are gonna see the Truth. People are gonna see the truth on the stage and once you see it, it’s like it is gonna break you down because it’s gonna be hard to believe that what your seeing is true. It’s really gonna you know I think it’s gonna be a defining moment for the world and not to put that big responsibility on me but I think once you see it live and you hear it and you feel the emotion coming through the song. Once you see it… the presence…the stillness I think it’s gonna be a defining moment for the world. It’s gonna make you think about a lot of things… you know what I mean. Not just the fans but I think a lot of people once it takes off. It’s gonna be like “Yo”, it’s gonna feel like… it’s almost like some people are gonna get left behind.

Page 17: TAKE A RIDE TO THE FUTURE WITH "QUE"

QUEFANS: Where do you see yourself in ten years?

QUE: In ten years I see myself… with a family, I see myself having I don’t know how many kids, maybe twins I don’t know (laughs) I don’t know why I said that. I just see twins (laughs). I also see my amusement park being built, I see people coming to my rides. And basically… once the amusement park gets build that I wanna invest in, that’s when I think my dream will become fully complete. Cause then people would really experience Me; they will experience my whole dream, my whole vision.

QUEFANS: When it’s all said and done, what do you want people to say about Que as a person and then as an artist?

QUE: I don’t care what people have to say about me as a person because well I don’t know, I just don’t care what people have to say about me (laughs). But as an artist I just want them to respect the gift. Respect the fact that I can sing and respect the fact that once I come on the stage I shut it down and you know it’s gonna be like magical. I just want them to respect that. If they can respect the craft, the gift, the talent I’m good you don’t gotta respect Que. You don’t gotta like me you don’t have to love me… you can love me you can do whatever you want. Just Respect The Gift.

AS WE WERE TYPING UP THIS INTERVIEW, WHILE LISTENING TO IT. IT MADE US THINK OF HOW PEOPLE THINKS “QUE” IS CRAZY JUST BY HOW THE TV SHOW PORTRAYED HIM. BUT WE ARE HERE TO TELL YOU THAT FROM SPEAKING TO HIM, LAUGHING, AND SIMPLY HAVING FUN WITH HIM WHILE CONDUCTING THIS INTERVIEW… THAT IT IS DEFINITELY NOT THE CASE AT ALL. FOR EXAMPLE, ONE OF OUR FAVORITE ANSWERS FROM QUE WAS WHEN HE WAS TALKING ABOUT HOW “HE DOESN’T CARE WHAT PEOPLE THINKS ABOUT HIM AS A PERSON BUT AS AN ARTIST JUST RESPECT THE GIFT.” THAT ALONE GOES TO SHOW HOW HUMBLE, DOWN-TO-EARTH, AND SUCH A LAID BACK AND COOL PERSON QWANELL MOSLEY ACTUALLY IS. ALSO IN ANOTHER ANSWER HE WENT ON TO SAY, “I DON’T DO NOTHING BUT SING AND DANCE, I SWEAR I BE LIKE IN THE MIRROR LIKE ALL DAY DANCING AND SINGING JUST PRACTICING… IT’S WEIRD”; THAT GOES TO SHOW AGAIN THAT HE IS PASSIONATE ABOUT HIS CRAFT & HE IS DEDICATED TO THE GIFT GOD GAVE HIM. THEY SAY NEVER JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER. WELL WE SAY NEVER JUDGE A PERSON JUST BY HOW A “TV SHOW” PORTRAYS THEM.

AS THIS CONCLUDES THE FIRST PART OF A LONG JOURNEY WITH QWANELL “QUE” MOSLEY… WE HOPE YOU HAD FUN AND THANK YOU FOR LETTING US FILL YOUR MINDS WITH NEWS ON QUE (THA FUTURE)!!
