Night! It was a great time for all. If

you didn’t get the chance to come this

year watch for it next year. Gracias a todos los que participaron en

Spring Break

The week of March 11th through the 15th is Spring Break

for Mesa Public Schools. There will be no school

Monday to Friday. Please make sure that you have made

arrangements for your children to be home this week.

Hello Parents/Guardians,

If we asked an older child or teen what they couldn't live

without, the list would include: air, food, and their phone.

Phones are great tools and have many positives. They also

allow connections to strangers and access to content not

appropriate for children. The task of protecting our

children in their digital life is daunting. Below are some

strategies to help:

1. Before you child gets a phone, create a contract with

them about appropriate usage and boundaries. This lays

out guidelines for them and they know the consequences if

they break them.

2. Don't allow your child to keep their phone in their room

at night. Having an "unplugged" time nightly, allows kids to

decompress and not stay up playing Fortnite.

3. Know your child's screen names and passwords. Social

media is a public space and anyone can be speaking to your

child. Make sure their profiles are set to private, not public.

4. Stay up to date with the latest apps. Currently, our

students love Instagram and Tik Tok. They can post

videos/pics and private message on both.

5. Know the lingo. PRW - Parents are watching, 99 - parent

gone, KPC - keep parents clueless, LMIRL - Let's meet in real

life - These are just a few!

6. Most importantly: Speak to your child about the dangers

of the internet (cyberbullying as well as predators)!

Hola padres,

Si preguntamos a un niño mayor o adolescente con lo que no podrian vivir, la lista incluiría: aire, comida y su teléfono. Los teléfonos son excelentes herramientas y tienen muchos aspectos positivos. También permiten conexiones con extraños y acceso a contenidos no apropiados para los niños. La tarea de proteger a nuestros niños en su vida digital es desalentadora. A continuación se presentan algunas estrategias para ayudar a protegerlos:

1. antes de que el niño obtenga un teléfono, haga un contrato con ellos acerca del uso apropiado y límites. Esto establece las pautas para ellos y saben las consecuencias si se les rompen.

2. no permita que su niño mantenga su teléfono en su habitación por la noche. Teniendo un "disconecte" todas las noches, permite a los niños a descomprimir y no quedarse jugando Fortnite.

3. conocer los nombres de usuario y contraseñas de su hijo. Los medios de comunicación social son un espacio público y cualquier persona puede hablar con su hijo. Asegúrese de que sus perfiles se establecen en privado, no público.

4. mantenerse al día con las últimas aplicaciones. Actualmente, nuestros alumnos les encanta Instagram y Tik Tok. Pueden subir videos/fotos y mensaje privado en ambos.

5. conocer la jerga. PRW - los padres están viendo (parents are watching), 99 - padre ido (parents gone), KPC - mantener a los padres despistados (keep parents clueless), LMIRL - vamos a conocernos en persona (let’s meet in real life) - son pocos!

6. más importante: hablar con su hijo sobre los peligros de internet (ciberacoso así como depredadores).

March 22nd - Neon Nights Dance. Come dance the night away with our PTO.

Admission will be $5 per person (4 & under free). Ms. Coe’s hot dog cart will be

there. PTO will be selling glow in the dark items, cotton candy and much more. Live

DJ with games, $5 photo booth and lots more fun things to do.

Venga a bailar por la noche con nuestra entrada de PTO será de $5 por persona por adulto

(4 años para baja es gratis). El carrito de hot dogs de la Sra. Coe estará allí. PTO venderá
