Thefestivalencouragesthecreationoforiginalworkinanylanguageandgenre.Itoffersaspaceforstudentsandyoungartiststolettheirimaginationsrunfree,interrogateissuesrelevanttotheirlivesand

createmodesofperformancethatsupporttheircreativesignatures.Thefestivalaimstogrowartist-scholarswhocangenerateinnovativecreativeproducts,creatediscoursearoundtheirwork,engagewithexistingperformingartsstructuresandentertainaudiencesoldandyoung.Itfurtherpromotesinteractionamongstudentsfromdifferentinstitutionsandorganisationsinordertocreateanetworkofsupportamongpeersthatcanassiststudentstonavigateaverydemandingprofessionalenvironment.

Thefestivalfurtherprovidesstudentsandyoungartistswithanopportunitytoshowcasetheirtalentwithaviewtopromotingintegrationwithreal-time,real-lifeentrepreneurialactivities,aswellasanopportunitytofacilitatetheswitchtoaneconomicallyactiveprofessionalenvironment.

Thefestivaltiesinwithvariousaspectsofthedramaprogramme.Thecurrentfestivalorganiser,PalesaMatabaneisanMAstudent.Second-yearstudentswillassistinmanagingtheentertainmentandsalesatOomGertwhilesomewillalsoactasvenueandtechnicalmanagers.UPArtswillprovidemuchneededlogisticalsupportduringthefestival.BlissEntertainmentwilllookafterthefestival’stechnicalneedsandfirst-yeardramastudentswilloperatethetechnicalequipmentinthevenuesundertheirguidanceandunderthesupervisionofMrBaileySnyman.First-yearstudentsalsofulfilotherfunctions,suchasfront-of-housedutiesandstagemanagement.
