The Cries

Edvard Munch was the person who paints this in the year of 1893. Yes, it is the painitng called The Scream. I love his paintings, because I think I can feel what he felt at that time, a very depressed time for him. I love this painting the most, because I can sense why he scream (I always feel the two hallows on the back were following him and made him scream).

It’s my first clay piece in senior year, the reason why I thought of making this is because of art history class, I know I will learn this painting in later of the year, but I can’t wait to make him! I colored on greenware first before bisque using the shining paints (Honesty I don’t know it’s the shining glaze at first time) so after fire once it is a finish piece with popping dot on it due to the greenware firing process. It’s not complete shining, like the part in dark. But I love the way it goes (BTW, he looks wan and sallow).

Me as Egyptian

The time period I love the most in history will be the Egypt (that’s why the movie Mummy and Mummy Return are always my favorites). Their fresco, pyramid, twisted perspective, letters and each male or female pharaoh are reasons that amaze me. I would say if I can travel back time, I will choose the period in Egypt.

The Egyptian woman in this piece is my original character. She was a brilliant woman, proficient in medicine, math, science, and such. She was also a very open-minded person at that time, because she never looks down on slaves nor tried to claim connections with people in higher social class, she was naming Goddess of Isis by the slaves. However, she got married by the pharaoh and become one of his harems. After pharaoh died by sickness, she finally can live with her first love (not a bad ending huh?).(FYI, the owl is “M” and the lady means female)

Young Egypt Pharaoh

It was a mini-clay project in art history class. I later glaze it more in ceramic period. The inspiration was come from a manga called Crest of the Royal Family, the young pharaoh. I broke it at its bisque stage by accident, but I think that fits him because it become more antiquity (Ancient stuffs always broken :D).

Medusa Peel Plug

Besides Egypt, my second favorite time period will be Greeks, and the character I familiar the most is Medusa. This piece is a plug that can put into the kiln’s holes. This piece is for a ceramic contest (that I didn’t win).
