Textual Analysis of Student’s Work

• The poster, in my opinion, is well made, as I can see it relates directly to the subject matter tackled in their documentary.– Inside the eye, you can see a collection of images which, in the

opinion of some adults, do infect a child’s life; Harry Potter, Twilight, Justin Bieber

• Although it is an extreme close-up, we can see this person is both female and young

• We can tell this not only from the skin, but from the eyes; there are no wrinkles, and make up seems to have been applied to the eyes in a fashion similar to youths today

Additionally, when compared with another poster from Channel 4, we can see the obvious similarities;

- The Channel 4 logo in the right-hand corner of the shot- A caption and title presented with a white-on-black font. The

allows the audience member to focus in on the title, date, day and time of broadcast

- The picture directly relates to the content of the documentary (the examples given above are ‘The IRA’ and ‘Youths’)
