It was fantastic to see so many of our families taking the opportunity to meet with our teachers last week
for Parent/Teacher interviews. By releasing our teaching staff to meet with our families, we are working
hard to build upon our already strong relationships with parents and carers. Research shows that children
are more successful in school and in later life when the school and family work together with a shared
purpose of wanting each and every child to achieve their personal best. For the first time this year we will
be releasing our teaching staff for a day each to meet with families again in Term 3. We are also continuing
our commitment to make contact with families on a regular basis to share positive feedback about every
child’s progress as a learner be it in person or over the phone. We want you to hear and be an active part
of your child’s education here at Windale PS. Everyone likes to hear when they are doing a good job and
your children are no exception.
I’m excited to finally show you the plans for our new playground equipment which has been ordered for
the bottom playground. It is from the same company aSpace that installed our new equipment in the top
playground last year and has been so popular with all of our students. After much discussion with
students, staff and family members, the equipment for the bottom playground has been designed with our
younger children in mind with not one, not two, but three slides!! Fingers crossed that weather permitting
we may be able to have it installed during the next holidays before our students return to school. We all
can’t wait!! Have a great week of learning everyone!

Eastlakes PSSA Trials
Congratulations to Taylor, Guy, Cody and
Chevy who competed in the Eastlakes PSSA
Rugby League trials. All boys represented
Windale with great sportsmanship and they
should be proud of their efforts. Good luck
to Chevy who successfully made it into the
Eastlakes side and will compete at the
Hunter trials later this month.
Congratulations to Lillyanna and Aleyah who
competed in the Eastlakes PSSA Netball trials
last week. The girls played their very best
and represented Windale with great
sportsmanship and pride.

Barry’s Football Post—Paul Harragon Cup
In great football conditions, Windale travelled to Toronto for the Paul Harragon Cup. With tough opposition
against Blacksmiths, Marks Point, Wiripaang and Tea Gardens, Windale played outstanding football.
Except for one game, all other games went down to the wire. A couple of loose passes and the results would
have gone the other way.
Unfortunately we missed out on playing in the final, but Windale are to be congratulated on playing good, hard
football and displaying sportsmanship of the highest order.
Charlie, Taylor, Aleyah, Noah, Kiarni, Jarrod, Chevy, Izack, Anthony, Cody, Harmony, Shontay, Jeremiah and
Tyrell all played outstanding football, backing each other up and representing Windale with distinction.
A big, big thank you to super coaches Luke and Tim, and to all the parents and carers who supported the team
during the day. Another huge thank you to Mrs Houston and Mrs McBay for a great day of football.
