2006 Structure D 2000 Syntheses, Structure, and Bonding of Rb 14 (Mg 1-x In x ) 30 . A Nonstoichiometric Phase with an Unusual Substitution in the Anion Framework. — Title compounds with x = 0.79—0.88 are synthesized by high-temperature reactions of the elements (500 °C, 10 h). As revealed by single crystal XRD, they crystallize in the space group P6 2m with Z = 1. The crystal structure contains two distinct types of anionic layers: isolated penta- capped trigonal prismatic clusters and condensed [(Mg x In 1-x ) 5 In 14 ] 7- layers.
