Participants will view example tasks and experiment with the apps during the session using their own smart phones, tablets, or laptops. Learning outcomes: 1) select an audio recording tool appropriate for the task and needs of the students; 2) explain how the tool or app functions; 3) create speaking tasks that take advantage of the functionality of the app or tool, for in-class and out-of-class use PBWorks Presentation Resources wiki, http://swcolt2015shelton.pbworks.com/ This public wiki has all of the materials used in the presentation, including the PowerPoint, plus extra resources to provide additional information. SoundCloud, https://soundcloud.com/ SoundCloud has free plans that give you 3 hours of audio file storage. Individual recordings have no time limit. The mobile apps no longer support recording. Files can be downloaded, shared, and embedded. There are public and private settings. AudioBoom for Education https://audioboom.com/about/education AudioBoom was known as AudioBoo. Through the browser version you can sign up for free student accounts. There are free mobile apps but they are not very user-friendly to set up. The Edmodo app from AudioBoo may still exist.
