Beginning this particular project, site analysis was key to determine weather patterns, past uses of the site, and poten-tial opportunities and constraints. Analysis as such helps produce work intended to last when the future is uncertain.

Variations in weather patterns, economic and culture changes, and even site surroundings are some key forces that can create uncertainty in the future.

Adaptability is being capable to design past the short term. A sustainable design is responsive to its time period and changes accordingly as time progresses.

Providing a comfortable environment for the occupant throughout all seasons can significantly contribute to a successful long term design.

Resilience can help designs become adaptable to the uncertainty of the future.

For this project I designed a small pavilion that can be used for observation along the river. My Concept through the project was to keep the plan simple and open to maintain transparent view that the site offers. Due to the buildings relative location to the waterfront, the structure was lifted 5 feet above the sur-face of the water to account for flooding.

Pictured here is a small architecture college on the west end of Samson street in Philadelphia. The program entailed me to design this Live/Work architecture school for 50 students and faculty. The total program includ-ed roughly 60,000 square feet.

The Fisher House by Louis Kahn is a great Architectur-al precedent. Kahn uses two geometric objects to ex-plore form, space, and light within the space. Preceding the analysis of the Fisher house, I began to design a research center that would complement the house and use similar architectural techniques that Kahn uses.
