ASIA-PACIFIC WEALTH REPORT 2016

• Asia-Pacific Leads in Global HNWI Wealth and Overall Growth

Asia-Pacific recorded robust HNWI population and wealth growth rates (9.4% and 9.9%, respectively), highest across the globe, and edged past North America to become the region with the highest HNWI wealth of US$ 17.4 trillion.

Asia-Pacific’s HNWI wealth grew by 10 percent in 2015 which is almost five times North America’s 2 percent wealth growth in 2015 decelerating substantially from 2014’s 9 percent growth rate.

• Unlike ultra-HNWIs in the rest of the world, those in Asia-Pacific grew their wealth at a brisk pace

Wealth expanded by 10.8% for ultra-HNWIs in Asia-Pacific, compared to just 0.1% for those outside of Asia-Pacific.

Driven by robust GDP growth rates in the emerging markets, Asia-Pacific HNWI wealth is expected to grow at a CAGR of 10.3% to US$21.2 trillion by 2017.
