Support the Trees in Arbor Month

April is Arbor Month in Portland and a time when we put extra effort into nur-turing and celebrating our museum of 6,000 living trees.

You can help support your arboretum with a donation that goes directly to maintain-ing the collection. Thanks to a generous gift from one of our supporters, your contribution will be matched up to $12,000, so your gift is doubled and twice

as important!

Your investment in Hoyt Arboretum will help us fertilize and prune our trees, acquire seedlings to expand the collection and purchase nourishing mulch. You can help keep over 2,000 species of trees and plants healthy and inviting by mak-

ing your tax-deductible gift online here.

Remember, every gift of $35 or more makes

you a member of Hoyt Arboretum Friends!

When will they bloom?

Plums and Cherries: Plums and cherries are just beginning to bloom. Their fragile blossoms require calm weather for peak viewing that can last now through the end of April.

Magnolias: Magnolias begin blooming in early April with M. Stellata and will last until the end of May. The peak bloom time should be early May.

Maples: Maples will begin to unfurl their long flower chains in late-April. These are stunning intricate blooms that are often overlooked.

Dogwoods: Dogwoods are a staple in Oregon. These beauties can be seen blooming near the Vietnam Veterans Memorial beginning in mid-May.
