N.A.A.P.

We have organised sponsored membership of the National Association of Patient Participation Groups (N.A.A.P.) for every GP

practice in Enfield. The CCG will also become a corporate member.

http://www.napp.org.uk

N.A.P.P. is a registered charity and the only national umbrella organisation for PPGs. N.A.P.P. was formed in 1978 by Patient Participation Groups (PPGs) that wanted to network together nationally and to promote patient participation within GP surgeries.

We have worked with N.A.P.P. so that every practice can join just by filling in a special form. Enfield CCG will pay the cost of membership.

You can benefit from help and support from N.A.P.P. individually and we can collectively work together on their toolkits.

N.A.P.P. provides free resources and networking opportunities with PPGs across England.

We welcome your feedback on the resources N.A.P.P. provides as we will want to audit whether we should continue with this membership.

SupportNetworking events• This is our fourth PPG event. We have events for Chairs only and for all PPG Chairs and members. The CCG would like to help you

network and is willing to put on regular events for you• We would like you to help us shape the agenda. We have lots of people who want to speak to you. Here are just a few:

- Public Health would like to talk to you about their work

- NHS Blood and Transplant are running an organ donor pilot

- CCG speakers can talk to you about local service improvements we are planning, projects such as the Patient Experience Tracker, iPlato (text messaging) quality and lots of other topics

- Other external speakers such as NHS England, or the CQC- GPs- Equality and diversity

Training

We have booked some training with Enfield Voluntary Action that some groups took part in. I would be willing to sponsor some more training if requested for groups or individuals.

Supporting you to promote your events

If you have an event, let us help you to promote it

Recruiting members

Every time we go out to events, we promote PPGs and tell people to ask their practice about the groups.

Volunteer opportunities

If you are an expert patient or have an expert patient in your PPG, they may want to volunteer to help the CCG with service improvements

Supporting you to report up issues

You can report up any issues that come up in your PPG that you feel the CCG needs to know about. This does not include passing on complaints. So if you know that a number of your patients are concerned about waiting times, or don’t know about local services, let us know. Email [email protected]

Supporting you to help patients with self-education

If you would like to do some self-education work in your practice we can try and support you.

Help and advice

Advice with the PPG DES, events, surveys and anything else! I can also put you in touch with another group who may be already doing something similar.
