We know you want to fy your Super Cub LP as soon asyou have it. However, fying in too much wind can placeyour aircrat in jeopardy. On your rst fights, make surethat the winds are no more than 57 mph (811km/h).

    Choose a Calm Day

    Appendix

In order to have the most success, and to protectproperty and your Super Cub LP, it is very important toselect a place to fy that is very open.

    The site should:

Have a minimum of 300 feet (90 meters) of clear spacein ALL directions.

    Be clear of pedestrians.

Be free of trees, buildings, cars, power lines, oranything that could entangle your airplane or interere

    with your sightline.

Remember, your Super Cub LP can reach speeds of upto 30 mph (48km/h), so it can cover ground quickly.

Plan on ying in an area that gives you more spacethan you think you need, especially with rst fights.

    ACT Flying Tips

Never y at too low of an altitudeand expect ACT to save you roma crash. You must maintain analtitude o at least 200 eet (61meters) or the sotware to be ableto help prevent crashes.

Even when ying with ACT on, i you eel your aircrat is in

jeopardy, reduce the throttleimmediately and release thestick. You can then add a smallamount o up elevator (pull backslightly on the stick), as well, toaid the recovery.

Because the sensors are used toactivate the protective sotware, there may be times when they canbe ooled. This may be especiallytrue when fying in very brightsunshine and/or when the sun isclose to the horizon.

With ACT on, never y over water, light colored sand, ice, snow oranything else that can refect lightand ool the sensors.

Never y in too tight of an area.Anti-Crash Technology will notprevent you rom crashing intotrees, buildings or other obstacles.

Make several successful ights(including several sot landings)prior to attempting to fy with

    ACT o.

Never let the aircraft y too fardownwind rom you, which cancause the aircrat to fy away.

It is always a good idea to havean experienced pilot who hasmastered control with at least a3-channel radio system to helpyou on your rst fights.

On rst fights, it is a good idea to have a second person, ideally an adult, help you launch the plane. This will al-low you to ocus entirely on the transmitter input.

    1. Make sure the battery is ully charged.

    2. Power on the transmitter.

    3. Install and plug in the fight battery.

    4. I you are hand launching the aircrat yoursel, placethe plane in your right hand and the transmitter inyour let hand.

    5. Use caution and advance the throttle to FULL.

    6. Take a ew steps orward, and launch the airplaneDIRECTLY and rmly into the wind, while keeping theairplane and its wings level with the ground.

    7. Allow the plane to climb steadily at ull throttle, intothe wind, until you have achieved an altitude o 100to 150 t (30 to 46m). You will not need to use eleva-tor in order or your airplane to climb. A ew clicksdown on the elevator trim should allow a steadyclimb.

    Hand Launch

    24

    1. Ater you have launched your Super Cub LP, it willbegin climbing at ull throttle. With the throttleadvanced all the way orward, your Super Cub LPshould not need any elevator input to climb steadily.

    2. Make adjustments on the throttle slider and controlstick that are necessary to keep your aircratheading directly into the wind. Do not attempt aturn until you have reached a minimum of 50100feet (15.2530.5 meters) of altitude, about as tallas a four-story building.

    3. Control range is 2500 eet (762 meters), so i you fybeyond that, you will lose control o your airplane. Atthat distance, however, you would likely lose sight oyour airplane beore youd lose control.

    4. Dont let your airplane get too ar downwind romyou. Always fy with the airplane UPWIND rom you.Failure to do this could result in a fy-away!Remember, the wind is stronger as your plane fieshigher in the air. Its ok to fy higher, just be cautiousand watch how your plane reacts to the wind. Most othe time, you can fy at higher altitudes athal-thrott le. This is great or smooth, easyfying when youre rst learning to fy, and conservesbattery power.

    5. When you have reached higher altitudes and want

to practice using the elevator, begin with small andsmooth inputs to the transmitter. Very little input isneeded to get the plane to turn, climb or descend.

    6. Avoid long vertical dives, with the motor on or o, asit can cause a lot o stress on the aircrat.

    1. When launching, the throttle should be all theway on.

    2. Once you have achieved the altitude where youwant to fy, you can reduce throttle to about 50% orcruising. This also allows or longer fights.

    3. I you want to reduce altitude, reduce throttle to lessthan 50%.

    4. To increase altitude again, increase throttle to morethan 50%.

Note: If youre flying with the motor off, or at a slowspeed, allow the Super Cub LP a bit more areafor turns.

It is recommended in the instructions that the Super CubLP controls be set or soter responses and at the outerholes o the control suraces. However, once you getused to the fight characteristics and want toperorm more aerobatic maneuvers (with ACT o), youcan change the amount o throw that is permitted bymoving the clevises to the inner holes o the controlhorns. Ater making any adjustments, always turn on thetransmitter, center the transmitter trim levers and makesure the control suraces are even. Make the properadjustments to make the suraces even, i they are not(see Step 7).

Note: By making these changes, the controls will bemuch more responsive. However, this makes theairplane much less forgiving and it will be easier

to stall. Remember, crash damage is not coveredunder the warranty.
