PROBLEM
APRIL 2, 2015
A massive fire broke out at a fuel tank storage facility run in Port of Santos, Brazil. It took 9 days to eventually extinguish the fire.
Brazilian Fire Department utilized almost all foam concentrate available in the country without success.
Three flammable liquid tanks burned completely to the ground.
Foam, foam solution, and hydrocarbons re spilled to the ocean resulting in 14 tons of fish kill.
Over 25 Million USD in environmental fines levied.
PROBLEM
JUNE 8th, 2015
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine has confirmed reports that the oil base in Vasylkivsky district near Kiev has caught fire and there is a high probability explosion. Ukrainian Fire Department utilized more 120 tons foam concentrate, but could not extinguish the fire.
The oil base burned completely and there was a death toll of the five people.
PROBLEM
OCTOBER 21st, 2015
An oil tank with capacity of 10.000 m3 began to burn in Khanty Mansiysk region, Russia.
Five hours were needed to begin using the stationary foam extinguishing system.
Russian Fire Department utilized more 30 tons foam concentrate without any effect.
As a result, the tank burned completely, killing one person and injuring several.

SOLUTION
Physics can’t be changed. Therefore, if we cannot get the good result from use standard foam we must change the
engineering approach to a combination of technologies to achieve the objective – extinguish the fire.
There is no rule that specify we need to use one and only
one technology to put out a fire. In fact it is just the opposite.
Every NFPA Codes has an equivalency clause that states:“Nothing in this code is intended to restrict equal or better
form of protection than what is called for in the code”
SOLUTION
Russian Officials have taken the “Way Forward Engineering Approach” seriously and have been experimenting and
training with generated ISAS module supercompression in the high vapor cloud foam.
20.000 m3 flammable liquid tank fire are easily extinguished with new foam in Russian Fire Fighter Training Center in Orenburg,
Russia.

AGENDA
RESEARH AND SUMMARY
The test results were surprising. A fire area of 1.200 square meters was extinguishing from one point (one pipe), without the use of
annular pipeline and expansion chambers!
Only 7 tons water with 400 kg foam concentrate was required for extinguishing the fire.
The Scientific Research Institute of the Federal Fire Service of Russia studied this phenomenon. The research was concluded in
November 2015.
RESEARH AND SUMMARY
The research identified that the efficiency was achieved due to the use of neutral gas bubbles in a 9% foam premix, providing 100% extinguishing vs NFPA 11 standards. One ISAS-7500 module used on a 40 meters diameter oil fire can extinguish the fire in 2 minutes, using a foam premix with a low expanded foam, containing air bubbles formed by solid rocket fuel gases under a high pressure water vapor cloud. New Impulse Technologies engineers is confident that the ISAS solution, in conjunction with foam, can provide minimum increase in efficiency at least 4x, reaching up to 6x, when using standard foams.
RESEARH AND SUMMARY
Features of the new generation of foam:
1. High density.2. Absence of oxygen.
3. Presence of fire extinguishing aerosol.4. Presence of neutral gases.
5. Small amount of water.
The reason of the phenomenon - a new generation of foam with higher resistance to heat and hot gas streams.
Foam instantly covers the area over fire and closes the access of oxygen for a long time. Possible use any foam from any country.
High efficiency result - physical properties of the foam, not chemical composition only.
