Sunday, April 7th The Honorable Tim Echols along with Dr. Stewart

will be speaking during the Worship Services on Human Tracking.

Tim Echols began his relationship with Christ at a revival meeting featuring astronaut, Neil Armstrong. Tim worked his middle and high school years at his family's car auction and later attended the University of Georgia where he served as the President of the Bap-tist Student Union. He met Methodist, Windy Davis, his senior year and they were later married. Tim and Windy eventually started TeenPact, a youth organization now in 45 states and have worked with over 50,000 children and teens. In 2010, Echols was elected to statewide office on the Georgia Public Service Commission. He was re-elected in 2016 and stands for office again in 2022. He started the UnHoly Tour, a bus tour focusing on ending human trafficking. He also founded the Wilberforce Fellowship--a program for millennial males. Tim and Windy have seven children.

Join us for worship on this special day!

Special Lenten Worship Service Wednesday, April 10th / 6pm

in the Sanctuary. Dr. Stewart will be leading the worship and we have

several things planned you don’t want to miss.

It is the mission of Stephen Ministry to

serve those going through a difficult time

by meeting one-on-one to listen and pray

with the one in need. All our work is

confidential. It is God using people to

help Him heal people.

We would like to remind you, that Stephen Ministry is not just a few people caring for

others but we are dependent on everyone in this congregation to pray of us and for

those we serve. We also, depend on you to offer Stephen Ministry to those you know

that are in need. Stephen Ministry is a church wide ministry of caring for others.

Many are reluctant to want to share but after doing so, they wish they had done so

sooner. Encourage those you know are hurting to contact Allen or Dell in the church

office 706-376-3164. All conversations and information are confidential. A Ministry of Christ caring for people through people.

“Let us not love with words, but with actions and in truth.” 1 John 3:18

PRE SCHOOL NEWS

About the Lake Lot: The Hartwell First UMC Lake Lot is used and operated by the Church. We allow members and others to use the Lake Lot for a $50.00 donation to the church. In order to use the Lake Lot, it must be reserved through the church office between 9am-4pm Monday-Thursday. The Lake Lot is available after Easter Sunday through mid-October.

Reminders

March was a lucky month for our Pre schoolers.

They celebrated St. Patrick's Day with their

green, and Dr. Seuss with their special pajama

day. They topped off the moth with a trip to

Dairy Queen for ice cream.

Our 4 year old class is getting excited. When the Spring

pictures were made, they had their Cap & Gown pictures

made. Graduation is coming up May 22nd / 6pm / FH.

The April Bible Verse is “Sing praises to the Lord” Psalm 9:11. We

will celebrate Easter with an egg hunt & dye eggs during class time.

Earth day is April 22nd and Preschool will take a trip to the Botani-

cal Gardens to plant flowers. The 4 year olds will be gearing up for

Kindergarten Registration the last full week of April.

Registration for the 2019-2020 is taking place. The Two &

Four year old classes are almost full. There are some places in

the Three year olds still available. Registration forms are in

the Pre school and in the church office.

MISSIONS INSTEAD OF LILIES

We are offering the “Missions Instead of Lilies” again this year. Instead of buying a lily, you can hon-or or remember someone by making a donation that will go towards our local Missions. Please consider

making a donation that will help our local Missions. Please make your tax deductible donation of $5.00 (or more) for each person you wish to honor or remember. On Easter Sunday, April 21st a special bulletin insert will include these names. The deadline will be Monday, April 1st.

Please print the names as you would like them to appear in the special insert. In Memory of ____________________________________________
