Summer holidays are round the corner and somefruitful activities are designed at DIPS to enhance children’s creativityand innovation for the progressive learning.Help your child to do it :•Morning Blessings: Help your child inculcate good habits like doing“Surya Pranam”& encourage him/her to greet all elders in the morning.If possible, visit a temple or any other religious place of your choice.
•Fun in Knowing : Tell the child about your childhood, share incidentsfrom the past and show him/her old family albums. This will strengthenthe bond between you and your child.
•Fun with Books: Read English and Hindi stories to your child withmorals and colourful illustrations.
•Fun with family: Make use of these holidays and spend quality timetogether as a family and make your child feel special.
•Fun with Parents: Cook dinner together. Show your child how tomeasure 1 cup, 1/2 , 1 teaspoon etc. Start naming the food groups whenyou serve them.• Go for shopping together. Tell your child about market and malldifferences, about the things, items and material purchased from there.• Let your child help in your household chores like cleanings windows,dusting and many more.•Have walk together and talk to your child about what he/she likes anddislikes etc.•Help your child to memorize the home address and your phonenumbers too.•Help your child in learning how to open and close his/her water

Learn the story with action and props.
The Ant and the DoveOne hot day, an ant was searching for some water. After walkingaround for some time, she came to a spring. To reach the spring,she had to climb up a blade of grass. While making her way up,she slipped and fell into the water.She could have drowned if a dove up a nearby tree had not seenher. Seeing that the ant was in trouble, the dove quickly pluckeda leaf and dropped it into the water near the struggling ant. Theant moved towards the leaf and climbed up onto it. Soon, theleaf drifted to dry ground, and the ant jumped out. She was safeat last.Just at that time, a hunter nearby was about to throw his netover the dove, hoping to trap it.Guessing what he was about to do, the ant quickly bit him on theheel. Feeling the pain, the hunter dropped his net. The dove wasquick to fly away to safety.Moral : One good turn begets another.
Note: You can make your ward learn any short story of his/herchoice. Also prepare props along to be used by your child.
