Students entering Grade 10 (AP Literature): Required for ALL in-coming sophomores:

In addition to the required reading, you must choose TWO of the following:

Achebe, Chinua Things Fall Apart Bronte, Emily Wuthering Heights Chevalier, Tracy The Girl with the Pearl Earring * Gaines, Ernest A Lesson Before Dying Hemingway, Ernest A Farewell to Arms Huxley, Aldous Brave New World Potok, Chaim The Chosen Wolff, Tobias This Boy’s Life * Required reading for students taking Studio in Art and may count as one of your student choice selections. Reminder: Annotate as you read! You will need these books for our comparative study of the works during the school year. Assessment: Guiding Questions for The Things They Carried –Responses to the guiding questions will be submitted on the first day of school. The depth and insight into each answer will validate the mark. Neatness and presentation counts! (See attached.)

Parents and students should be cautioned that some of the titles deal with mature themes and are reminded that the AP Curriculum is meant to be college level work.
