Kinder Kids CampKinder Kids Camp is designed to help entering kindergarten students (and parents) make a smooth transition to the new school year.

At the beginning of each session, teachers introduce a variety of classroom routines and lively activities to provide campers with an academic and social foundation for kindergarten. Campers use educational manipulatives, games and other resources to develop fun and collaborative connections with their peers and teachers. Kinder Kids Camp offers valuable developmental experience in preparation for the coming school year.

Kinder Kids campers are invited to join us for the afternoon Young at Heart Recreation Camp.

Morning Academic ProgramWe aim to prepare each camper for a smooth transition to the new school year with engaging, theme-based curriculum in coed, grade-specific classrooms.

Each session of the Morning Academic Program begins with a basic review of concepts from the previous grade level. Teachers differentiate instruction and reinforce common themes, standards and expectations from the prior school year aimed to help solidify existing skill sets and knowledge bases. As camp progresses, the focus shifts to reflect curriculum that campers can expect in the coming year, with an emphasis on math and language arts. A fully integrated Digital Literacy & Design program is available for campers in the Morning Academic Program, with full access to the Unkefer Spark Studio, where students will explore, design, engineer and tinker.

Routines and expectations provide a comfortable space for making new friends and building upon existing relationships. All campers are informally assessed, and feedback is shared with families at the end of each session. Campers leave the Summer Program having gained valuable experience and confidence that prepares them for a smooth transition into the next grade level.

The Convent & Stuart Hall Summer Program offers an Orton Gillingham-based literacy program. This program is designed to support incoming first, second and third grade students who areprogressing toward grade-level expectations in the areas of reading, spelling and writing.

Class time focuses on developing and reinforcing foundational skills such as sounds, syllable types, sentence fluency and spelling consistency. The class uses strategies that are multi-sensory and sequential in nature, providing repetition for the learning and consolidation of skills. Class size is limited to a maximum of 15 students, led by qualified reading specialists.

Young at Heart Recreation CampCampers participate in a variety of daily rotations, while enjoying theme-based dress up days, scavenger hunts, talent shows, special guest performances, camp carnivals and more.

Campers fully utilize the school’s premier facilities in their daily rotations through experiencing ath-letics, creative arts, science and technology, all in one afternoon. Campers enjoy talent shows, dressing up on theme days, scavenger hunts, carnivals and more. This environment sets the foundation for each camper to be his or her authentic self while building meaningful connections with teachers, counselors and peers.

Counselor in Training ProgramStudents entering Grades 5-8 with an affinity for mentorship can join the Summer Program in a leadership role.

Counselor in Training (CIT) Program Full-Day Session (8 a.m. - 4 p.m.) $350 per weekGrade Level: Entering Grades 5 to 8Sessions: Coed groups

The Counselor in Training (CIT) program is designed for students entering Grades 5-8 who are interested in teaching and mentoring opportunities. CITs gain valuable life skills while practicing conflict resolution, safety awareness, communication skills, critical thinking, program planning and team building. All CITs will be trained alongside high school and college-level counselors while serving as positive role models for campers in Grades K-4, gaining confidence and a sense of accomplishment.

Kinder Kids campers make new friends and build on existing relationships while being supported and encouraged by experienced kindergarten teachers.

Free of formal assessments, morning campers appreciate the low-pressure academic environment which offers ample opportunities to explore and take risks, while building resiliency in the classroom.

Multi-Sensory Literacy Program campers gain valuable experience in the summer months, helping them make significant progress in the areas of reading and writing.

Afternoon Young at Heart campers have many opportunities to sing, dance, and express their creative spirit while gaining confidence among peers and audiences.

Afternoon Young at Heart campers engage in a variety of activities each afternoon, including athletics, visual & performing arts, science labs, coding & programming and a design & builders workshop.

CITs take on expanded leadership roles where they mentor younger campers, share their expertise and skills in a variety of areas and experience camp through the lens of a young “staff ” member.
