Dear Friends & Families,
Dear Parents,
Thank you for registering your child for the DISV Summer Camp
2020.
Due to the required measures for the protection against a COVID‐
19 infection and following a broad request for academic assistance
for children who by governmental decree have been home
schooled via distance learning, we have adapted our program to
provide learning assistance in the mornings and exciting activities
in the afternoons.
Children will work with teachers of Danube International School on
curriculum topics based on their academic grade that require
further solidifying after the challenging period of distance
learning.
A lunch break in our school canteen ‐where official hygiene
regulations are not only met but surpassed ‐ will ensure that
children have sufficient energy and rest for exciting afternoons
filled with trips and sport activities, while our trained staff will
ensure that the following official protective measures that apply to
Summer Camps in Austria are met at all times.

DISV Summer Camp 2020:
Protective measures against a COVID‐19 infection
• Summer Camps are considered events by the governmental regulations. Therefore,
the duty to wear a mouth/nose protection remains even after June 15, 2020. All
children need to wear a mouth/nose protection when entering the building and in the
hallways until they reach their designated seats. During the morning learning time in
class, a mouth/nose protection is not required, as long as students remain in their
designated seats and do not walk around. During outdoor activities (sports, playtime),
a mouth/nose protection is not required, if the minimum distance of 1 m can be
respected. We ask parents to provide the child's preferred type of mouth‐nose
protection on each day. The summer camp team will provide disposable masks to any
child who does not have a mouth‐nose protection.
This guideline shows the currently valid regulations. If the government changes these
regulations during the summer camp period, we will adapt the new regulations
immediately.
• Clusters of people at the entrance shall be avoided during drop off and pick up
time.
We therefore ask all parents to bring and pick up the children in the following time
intervals and wait outside the building with a 1 meter distance between each family
until a summer camp staff member welcomes/releases the child.
Children between the age of 3 and 10:
Drop off time: 8:00 am
Pick up time: 4:00 pm
Children between the age of 11 and 14:
Drop off time: 8:10 am
Pick up time: 4:10 pm

• Wash your hands frequently!
Regularly and thoroughly wash your hands with soap or clean them with a disinfectant.
• Maintain social distancing!
Maintain at least 1 metre (3 feet) distance between yourself and all other persons who
are coughing or sneezing.
• Do not touch eyes, nose and mouth!
Hands can pick up viruses and transfer the virus to your face!
• Practice respiratory hygiene!
Cover your mouth and nose with your bent elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze
and dispose of the used tissue immediately.
• Our maintenance staff will ensure strictest hygiene procedures regarding the
cleaning and disinfecting of all rooms/objects/surfaces in the summer camp rooms.
• Objects/food cannot be shared among children, so we ask all parents to bring
sufficient snacks for the duration of the day. If your child is not registered for daily hot
lunches, please ensure that a packed lunch is sent with the child on each day.
• If signs and symptoms occur, do not leave your home and contact health care
professionals or emergency services by phone.
Health advice hotline: 1450
The duty to keep a distance of 1 meter applies to all areas of the summer camp. Also
when playing sports, this distance must be respected (only when playing on a soccer
field, a distance of 2 meters is allowed). Unfortunately, this will not allow popular
forms of sport such as soccer, basketball, volleyball and judo to take place at our
summer camp.
We will therefore offer many exciting outdoor alternatives so all children can
experience healthy exercise and exciting adventure on each camp day.

Procedure in the event of a suspected COVID‐19 infection at the summer
camp (either with a child or a supervisor):
1. If a child or a supervisor has symptoms (fever, cough, sore throat) while being in
the summer camp, the affected person (if older than 6 years) will be given a
mouth‐nose protection and brought to a separate room. If the affected person is
a child, a supervisor will remain with the child. The supervisor will wear a face
mask and a face shield while being in the room.
2. The summer camp team will call the health authorities and the child's parents
and wait for a health officer to arrive.
3. The health officer will determine the further procedure, which usually includes a
COVID‐19 test. We therefore ask all parents to sign the letter of consent for the
conduction of a COVID‐19 test, which you can find attached to this program.
If we do not have a signed form on file, the form will have to be signed on site
when parents arrive after the affected child was isolated, thereby delaying the
process.
4. The health officer will inform parents and the summer camp staff of the further
procedure and determine if a quarantine for certain persons or a group of
persons will be required following the test results.
Despite the many regulations that we all have to cope with this summer, we will
ensure an exciting and joyful time for your child at the DISV Summer Camp.
On the following pages, please find the revised program for each summer camp week.
We look forward to welcoming your child and wish you and your family a wonderful
summer !
