Christian Summer Camp

Romania, Danube Delta • Romania, the most beautiful country in the world, is

a land that was blessed to gather within the same borders all the forms of relief, from the Carpathian Mountains, large hills, plain fields to Danube Delta and Black Sea.

• Danube Delta is a wild region with waterways and reed beds that are the home of a wonderful variety of plants, animals, fish and birds.

• Sunlight Camp is a gate to Danube Delta, opened for children, young people and adults that want to enjoy God’s creation and spend a wonderful time together.

2008 Activities • This is not going to be a boring report filled with

numbers and dates; This is a “remember 2008”, a year full of events lived by us within Sunlight Camp, Dunavat, Romania;

• From the beginning of 2008, we decided to focus on the following issues : – help the local community with all the resources

we have – continue to instruct ourselves in order to level

up the camp to the EU standards– developing camp programs – finding the financial support and the necessary

resources we needed

Computer & English Classes

• Computer & English Classes are organized every week for children;

• This is one way we use to contribute not only to spiritual life of the community but also to the social and educational one;

Summer Bible School • We collaborated with

CRUSOE UK, a wonderful team of Scottish teenagers;

• Together with the Romanian

voluntaries they had organized a 10 days program that included Bible lessons, crafts, outdoor activities for the children in Danube Delta;

Orphan & Poor Children Camps

• We had organized camps in the autumn with orphans and poor children;

• It was a blessing for these children that had not been in a any camp during all summer;

Christmas gifts to Schools • As a closure for year 2007, there

were the Christmas shoe boxes by the Samaritean Purse, that were given to over 900 school children ;

• The last 2 weeks from December were very busy while transporting the gifts, visiting many poor people and watching many, many happy children ;

2009 Project • 2009 Project • Educational biblical program for orphans

and poor • non-Christian children • Number of Children = 100• Volunteers = 7;• Number of days = 4-5 (depends on the

financial support)• Financial support needed : • food, accommodation • = 15 USD / day/pers X 5 days =75 USD

/child= 75 USD x 100 children= 7500 USD/Camp

• We can support 3 children groups:• - 40 orphans;• - 40 poor children;• -20 children who need 50 % support;• crafts, materials for games = 800 USD

• Daily program : • 8,00 – 9,00 wake up ; • 9,00 –9,30 breakfast ; • 9,30-10,00 educational lesson ;• 10,00-10,30 outdoor activities /

games;• 10,30- 11,00 Music – learning English

songs • 11,00- 11,30 Bible story time;• 11,30 – 12,00 Crafts,• 12,00 –12,30 English Class ; • 12,30 –13,00 Computer Class;• 13,00 14,00 Lunch • 14,00 – 15,00 Free time • 15,00 – 18,30 Water activities (boating,

fishing, swimming)• 19,00 –19,30 Dinner • 19,30 – 20,30 Sports• 20,30 – 22,00 Evening worship (skits,

movies, indoor games)

• 22,30 Snoring time

New KITCHEN ROOF

• The old roof is from asbestos and is damaged.

• We need 3 rooms for teachers;

• We bought 30% of the costruction materials

• We need 8000 USD
