What does Change Management do?

Change Management is a planned process

for changing culture, systems and behaviour

of an organisation with the aim of improving

the efficiency of the expected outcome.

Change Management therefore includes all

measures that are necessary to initiate and

to implement new strategies, structures, and

new organisational behaviour.

People are at the heart of change

management projects. With the involvement

of the workforce at an early stage, those

affected will positively support changes, and

risks of change projects can be minimised.

What to consider

In order to make changes within the

organisation, it must first be brought

out of balance, then changed, and

then be stabilised again. Kurt Lewin

has illustrated this process in his

famous 3-phase model.

Typical reasons for Change Management:

There are 5 individual factors that

influence the reaction in the change

process:

1. fear of negative consequences

2. previous experience with change

projects

3. acceptance of the reasons for change

4. trust in superiors/management

5. loss of belonging and lack of social

support

How do I proceed?

There is a huge potential for conflicts in

change projects. The selection of the

right strategy is therefore vital to the

process and to a positive outcome.

The first step is to clarify what kind of

change you are aiming for. The more

precisely we can assess which thoughts

and emotions your project will trigger in

your workforce and in your leaders, the

better we can determine which potential

for conflict it brings with it, the more

likely we will be able to succeed in

getting the change process going,

keeping it alive and leading it to success.

projects fail or do not achieve the set goals.

Empirical evidence shows that to involve

the workforce as early as possible in the

run-up to the project is critical to success.

The employees help specify the right goals

and identify conflict potential at an early

stage. Only in radical change

top-down only approach more
