[MUSIC] Welcome. We're delighted that you've joined us forarts and culture strategy. We'll be exploring the key areas ofconcern and opportunity for arts and culture leaders. Reflecting on the value of what you do,and why it matters so much. We'll talk a lot about this value. Why your work has meaning now,how to build organizations for the future that create and continuallyoffer the greatest possible benefit. We'll be looking at business models,at organizational structure, and at a variety of tools andconcepts that will make you a stronger and more confidently effective leader. At National Art Strategies we caredeeply about strengthening arts and cultural leaders so that you in turn canstrengthen your communities and our field. We are particularly delightedto be partnering with the University of Pennsylvania forthis program. An institution with a deep commitmentto excellence in teaching. You may be on this course because you wantto be better at what you're already doing. Or, you may be on this coursebecause you're preparing for the next step in your career. Whatever your reasons for taking part,we're so pleased that you're joining us. And we make this promise. This experience will be rigorous,relevant, and enjoyable. Let's get started. >> I'm Peter Frunkin andI too want to welcome you to this class. For 20 years, I've worked with nonprofitorganizations of all kinds and all sizes. In this special class,we're gonna be focusing on your world. The world of art and culture. It's a distinctive part ofthe nonprofit landscape but we believe that some ofthe universals related to non profits that are pursuing allkinds of missions are relevant to you. What we try to do is tailora curriculum and a class for you, that speaks to the world that youknow, but that also gives you the best and latest strategy tools drawn from thebroader world, and the broader context. I hope that you enjoy the journey thatwe're going to take together, and that you get a lot out of this class as we explore,how do you run a non-profit organization that's committed to artistic value, ina way that produces maximum social value.
