Abstract The paper in question has been developed starting from Claparete. E’s statement, according to which ”Children are not

mini adults, and their mentality differs from the adults ones not only in the quantitive way, but also in the qualitative way,

so that a child is not only smaller, but he is also different. In consequence, they deserve a differenciated study.” This study

investigates the breath function at 12 – 13 year old children that practice athletics for over a year and have participated

to athletic competitions destinated to their age category, at 800 m running for boys, and 600 m running for girls. The

hypotesis of this work consisted of the question: can breath capacity can be a determinant parameter in selecting children

for long runs? The methods used to realise this scientific demarche, were: the method of studying the specialty literature

and the testing method, and for investigating the breath function, the spirometry method.

The conclusions have partially confirmed the work hypotesis.

Abstract Specialized sensory receptors in the muscles, joints and connective tissues enable the body to process information from a

variety of stimuli, and turn that information into action. The key to creating what specialists refer as movement

intelligence involves individuals becoming consciously aware of their movements, and of the information their bodies are

absorbing. To do this, stimuli is created to elicit a movement reaction through a variety of tasks or exercises. As skill

improves, more stimuli are needed to continue improvement. So, the aim of this study was to prove the utility of complex

and specific drills using additional materials in young handball players. Study has been developed on a sample of 10

young girls handball players from CSS. Bacău, age between 13-14 years old. The evaluation of the subject has been

realized using the ”T – Test”, ”Slalom Test” and ”ZIGZAG Run Test”, from the book ”Functional Testing in Human

Performance”. The working protocol consists from 8 coordinative and proprioceptive drills, used during training sessions

and in warming up part before official matches. We found an improvement of all the results and even an enhance of the

values compared with the references we studied.

A strategy for maintaining fluid and electrolyte balance in the

aerobe effort

Mihaela Apostu a*,

a National University of Physical Education and Sports, Constantin Noica, No 140, Bucharest, 060057, Romania

Abstract During endurance exercise, approximately 2% of the body weight is lost through sweating, although the sportsman’s

body starts the adaptive phenomena of water "conservation" (slow blood flow to the kidneys) and prevention of

dehydration. Higher losses emphasize this situation, because hydrostatic pressure differences within the internal

compartment causes fluid transfer. Such gradients occur during exercise, when due increase of the osmotic pressure

water is redistributed from the blood vessels to the muscles. The internal environment’s electrolyte homeostasis is highly

influenced by daily intake of water with or without minerals. The desire to minimize hyperthermia, dehydration and

mineral imbalance sporting body, as well as hydration overall - pre, intra and after effort is a constant concern for of

specialists in sport. Obtaining the "ideal" drinks for athletes during recovery, in order to stimulate the intestinal

absorption of water, to maintain the electrolyte balance of the body as well as to provide energy to support muscular

activity remains a challenge for most producing companies.

The effect of ergogenic substances over sports performance

Mihaela Apostu a*,

a National University of Physical Education and Sports, Constantin Noica, No 140, Bucharest, 060057, Romania

Abstract In performance sports, the recovery mechanism ensures trophy regeneration, restoring the homeostasis of the internal

environment and functional parameters before effort and even increasing them to an optimal state.

The complete analysis of 51 studies that included a total of 10,274 athletes shows that 46% of these consumers have

constantly used supplements as a form of recovery in sports. Furthermore, many had been these ergogenic substances in

a chaotic way (quantity, frequency, duration). Not all "natural" nutritional supplements are safe; many studies have

showed that excessive and long-term intake can be harmful to the organism.

Appropriate diet are crucial in the recovery process in sports and several authors promote the idea of healthy eating

habits, including products that improve reactions that may favor energy liberating reactions or enzymatic reactions (as

biocatalysts) as well as substances that can accelerate the post effort biological compensation. In this context, this paper

tries to update a series of recommendations regarding the use of ergogenic supplements and their role in increasing or

prolonging the sports performance.

Abstract The aim of our research is to focus attention and interest to implement the best solutions for Romanian

basketball development, a brief analysis of the National Basketball League, about the national interest.

We propose to consider some aspects of men's teams in the league from competitive years 2011-2012 and

2012-2013, based on the assumption that underlies our hypothesis that the Romanian players cannot get

results prestigious international competitions because they not have a ROMANIAN basketball championship.

Conclusions. Besides analyzing the main parameters of the basketball championship game, we have

demonstrated that we have to senior basketball a national championship in proportion 20% Romanian. Thus,

the national interest and the obtaining results to prestigious international competitions, as was assumed by

FRB status, cannot be met by senior national squad of Romania, made up largely of players called from our

national championship.

Abstract

We performed a biomechanical analysis of direct cross punch applied on full-contact style based on data

acquisition using inertial navigation technology embedded in MOVEN equipment product by Xsens,

Netherlands and surface electromyography. Series of shots was recorded using the MOVEN equipment

dedicated software and a digital video camera (120f/s). Acquired data were converted and processed in

Excel 2010 and then were plotted to reflect the different correlations. There were fist movements between

77 – 87 cm, maximum wrist velocity between 9,84-11,2 m/s, maximum elbow extension between 171-176,8

degrees and duration of contact with target range of 158-187 ms. There is a good overlap of the curves of

variation of speed segments in time, moments of activation and duration of agonistic and antagonistic activity

of key muscles involved in blowpotesis.

Romania

Abstract This research started from the necessity of instituting a physical therapy intervention program that would ensure the

continuity of technical instruction in parallel with a correct and complete rehabilitation of the injured functions. The

physical therapy intervention consisted in setting the physical therapy short term objectives: reducing the physical effort,

diminish the pain and the inflammatory process, increase the range of motion in the flexion of the calf on the thigh (first

without loading the limb, then loading it), strengthen the calf and thigh muscles (agonist and antagonist), and rebuilding

and increasing the anteroposterior stability of the knee, the last objective representing the central element of the physical

therapy intervention for consolidating the obtained results and preventing future injuries. From a technical standpoint,

linked imitative performances were used (in-run – take-off – flight – landing positions), both from a fix and from a moving

position – on a wheel cart and on skis, then the training continued on a jumping hill, where there was an optimal rapport

between the in-run speed, the length of the jump, and the landing surface.

Thanks to these drills, the athlete had a better representation of his own body scheme, with positive influences in the

spatial orientation.

The result recorded at the Liberec Junior world Championship, in January 2013 (19th position), the best Romanian result,

confirms the success of this program.

The role of the resilience in coping with stress in sports

Roxana Bejan a*, Florentina Toniţa a

a National University of Physical Education and Sports, Constantin Noica, No 140, Bucharest, 060057, Romania

Abstract It is known that some sportsmen manage stress better than others, coping with loss and pressure during

competitions and afterwards. After losing a game or a competition, some sportsmen manage to bounce back,

rapidly, to a previous state of normal functioning; others delay too much in getting over their loss. We

focused on the analyses of the post-competition period of time and the development of the sportsmen in their

training and state of mind. For those who cope poorly with loss and defeat in competitions, we consider

counseling having a main role in their training as the resilience is consider a process not an individual trait.

Abstract

Evolution and dynamics of sport science records, requires domain specialists, finding new solutions to

optimize athletic training in judo competition in accordance with specific requirements. Domain experts,

(coaches, athletes, researchers) demonstrates the need to address training in judo competition activity

directly related. The data obtained by us during the research, demonstrates that technical training and

preparation tactics, are two “fundamental factors of performance in judo competitions”. Hypothesis that judo

athletes optimizer technical training, provide the foundation for tactical preparation is confirmed by the data

collected, representing an important direction of orientation training and competitive judo. Research

findings, points out that high-level, competitive outcome is determined largely by the technical and tactical

actions, the end result, an appropriate motor preparation.

a National University of Physical Education and Sports, Constantin Noica, No 140, Bucharest, 060057, Romania

Abstract

We are the witnesses of a decreasing phenomenon of the average age when it comes about the Olympic and

the world champions; thus this determines the proposal of a formative programme in athletics regarding the

ante puberty children aged 6 – 9 years old, based on the usage of applicative tracts and relay races adapted to

the age particularities.

The study has been developed along 5 years starting with an initial test at the beginning of the school year

continuing with an intermediary testing after 5 years of applying the athletic programme and it will finish

when the school year ends with a final examination; the children took part in 2 classes per week, the classes

lasting 90 minutes.

As a result of these tests an improvement of speed has been noticed which has been statistically proved.

Abstract Appropriate scientific thinking in Romania, the concept of the model domain encompasses several types of models. Thus,

it is considered that the model of competition, determined the champion, which in turn are caused by the training model.

In turn, such a model is not a priori imagined, but sprang from the realities of competition, where the "product"

preparation and processing of highlights and faces.

Therefore, the number of years of onset, hours, weeks, months spent on the training court, invested in learning-lessons

with the density and profile of the repetition of thematic technical processes, development of the driving qualities of the

Clew, and sets the tournament into a limited calendar, is the model of your workout, you have to follow the contest.

Anticipating their potential opponents, knowledge of the game as a result of repeated confrontations, and the intricate

theoretical training by studying records commented on recent increases specificity and diversity training.

Abstract The determiation experiment type research with the before mentioned title has been carried out in the Parang learning

facility in February 2013, on a sample of 26 second year female students. Through this research we have sought to

determine if there is a correlation between the balance ability and the basic technical methods that the students learn

during the basic course. This paper is of actuality due to the fact that it provides the specialists information necessary in

the establishment of the most effective means of instruction, in the basic skiing intruction. The results of the reseach,

which have confirmed the established hypothesis, have showed that between the balance ability and the basic technical

methods in skiing there is a positive correlation. These results habilitate us to recommend that the established means of

intruction should be also oriented to the improvement of the dynamic balance of those who wish to acquire the basic

technique at this age category.

Abstract Part of the Latin football, the Romanian football school is experiencing now serious transformations with the

final aim of reducing the differences between the Romanian football and the European one. Over the last few

years there have been a change in the training focus, from technique to the physical and tactical preparation.

Therefore we tried to emphasize hereinafter some definitive details regarding the inherent quality of the high

performance football player. Thus we attempted to establish some capital chatecteristics which underlie the

high performer biological model. Hence, we submit to your attention the actual data obtained by the football

players belonging to different European schools. This information shall be the comparative element between

the qualities proved by a player from the european great teams and those proved by the players who play

regularly in the First League. This comparative analysis was carried out by recording and analyzing more

Necessary criteria for the coaching modeling in sport

Cristea Dumitru Niculaea*

a National University of Physical Education and Sports, Constantin Noica, No 140, Bucharest, 060057, Romania

Abstract Coaching is the method and the conceptual framework in which the interpersonal relationships between coach and the

sportsman develop. The basis of this interaction is the deliberate commitment, with the goal of the capitalization of the

skills and abilities that determine the performance .The definition of coaching as an interpersonal process supposes all

the aspirations, reasons, qualities, emotions, skills and values that are proper to the two persons that interact.

The first criterion is coaching specificity versus coaching generality and takes place in two directions: a) the relation

between coaching in sports (specific) and the application in other areas of activity (generalizations); b) the relation

between the specific of the personality of the coach and of his style (individual component parts) and the general

requests of coaching as a method.

The second criterion consists in refinding all the processes that are specific for the inter-individual communication: the

transmission of the information (emission), the channel of communication, the reception, the analysis and the feed-back.

The third criterion is represented by the structure of the process of coaching that involves three related activities:

intention, planning and management. These three activities will determine the materialization of the management

applied. The model of coaching supposes implementation, monitoring – adjustment, resources and rationalization.

The applied coaching practically bears inside the bipolar values and attitudes of the system formed from the coach and

the sportsman.

a National University of Physical Education and Sports, Constantin Noica, No 140, Bucharest, 060057, Romania

Abstract The aim of our research was obtaining some indicators regarding the number and the efficiency of the volleyball skills

during the official competition. These kind of dates can and will be use by the coach as training indicators

The research was made during National Cadets Championship "Cadets" Level (organized at national level for 15-16 years

old female players) during October 2011 and April 2012. The games were video recorded and analyzed afterward. Each

action was valued based on the immediate effect on the score (gained or lose point), on the rally freedom degree, and

advantage offered to the next player. Dates were summarized for each volleyball game specifically skills - service, receive,

set, attack, block, dig. The efficiency was calculated for each action, and we subsequently presented the dates into a

graphically form

The quantitative analysis can be use as training volume during the preparation of the championship, and the efficiency as

qualitative indicator reached during the year round preparation.

The aggression profile in performance fencing

Dinţică Gabriela a*, Păunescu Mihaelaa

a National University of Physical Education and Sports, Constantin Noica, No 140, Bucharest, 060057, Romania

Abstract The objective of this study is to obtain the psychological aggressiveness profile in professional fencing.

Material and method: In order to draw up the aggressiveness profile, a Buss-Perry aggressiveness test was

applied, a test that measures the four dimensions of aggressiveness: the physical aggressiveness, the verbal

aggressiveness, hostility and anger. Results: Out of the four dimensions of psychological dimensions, the

physical aggressiveness has obtained a score of 28%, followed by hostility with 27%, fury 23% and verbal

aggressiveness 22%. Conclusions: It is not surprising that physical aggressiveness has obtained the highest

score because fencing is characterized by aggressiveness and combativity. We consider the results of this

study as being relevant because they are highly correlated with the results obtained by other scholars.

Abstract Some authors consider lower-limbs explosive power as main factor in physical performance, a good level of lower-limbs

explosive power is considered useful to perform powerful accelerations and winning jump during the game and the

vertical jump height was related to playing time. Research will be done in two stages, this study is the first step in the

valuation explosive power of the lower limbs to young basketball players For that, two tests were performed to assess

anaerobic alactacide power (Jumps 15/30/60 sec. test), a test to assess muscle strength and muscle fiber recruitment

levels (Squat Jump test) and a rapid test to assess muscle elasticity (Stiffness test). All these tests are part of the protocol

Bosco were performed by using the Optojump Next System. After monitoring the level of explosive force in each of the 4

tests will be applied to one group an modeling program to improve the speed strength qualities in particular through

plyometric exercises because at this age level speed development is a prerequisite and force development is

recommended to only do jumping exercises .

Reassessment of the lower body explosive strength will be performed through the same tests and the same device at the

end of the championship. and this is the second stage of research.

a National University of Physical Education and Sports, Constantin Noica, No 140, Bucharest, 060057, Romania

Abstract The main manifestation of the force in the game of basketball is under the speed force. The most common term for the

force-velocity is "explosive force". In essence it is the individual's ability to engage in the effort, in a short time, a large

number of neuromuscular units.

The evaluation of the basketball players’ vertical detent is a requirement in preparing the juniors because of the multiple

implications the detent has on the game technique manifestation and its tactics.

For testing detention at the U18 junior players a dedicated test among specialists was performed, used not only in

basketball but in other sports branches.

Abstract Bench pressing is one of the most popular strength exercises, used for general conditioning by athletes of

many sport disciplines. It is also part of powerlifting and a sport discipline of its own. Twenty athletes with

international sports level took part in this investigation. The activity of four muscles was measured: the

pectoralis major (PM) the anterior deltoid (AD), the lateral head of triceps brachii (TB), and the latissimus

dorsi (LD), in four tasks. The pectoralis major showed no significant differences in muscle tension in relation

to the lifted load. For the ascending phase rise in muscle tension during external load increase was greatest

for muscles: Anterior Deltoid and Triceps Brachii.

Study regarding the methods of development of motor aptitudes

in football at juniors

Cătălin Octavian Mănescu a*,

a Academy of Economic Studies, Piața Romană nr.6, Bucharest, Romania

Abstract Modern football has experienced an extraordinary development under all aspects, the varied number of specific motor

aptitudes representing the basic elements for the total physical commitment during the game, the effort being made up to

the highest limits of the biological potential of the players.

Choice of the most efficient methods for development of the motor aptitudes must be in accordance with the effort

specific to the football game, contributing to the increase of the functional capacity of the body, in parallel with the

enrichment of the motor and technical and tactical fund of the players.

Rational management of the training process must result in the completion of the process of players’ formation on

positions, with special attention to the high processing of all motor aptitudes, correlating the general physical training

with the specific one, with the technical-tactical training specific to players, under appropriate playing conditions.

The result of the study shows us that it is specific to the age of 17-18 to combine the simultaneous approach of the

training factors with their successive approach. The game factors are in interdependence and reciprocal conditioning, the

physical factor remaining the performance support. Only the players systematically trained from the physical point of

view can have good performances.

The impact induced by the 2009-2012 fig code of points on the

artistic compositions in Rhythmic Gymnastics group event

Manos Mihaelaa, Popescu Laviniaa*,

a National University of Physical Education and Sports, Constantin Noica, No 140, Bucharest, 060057, Romania

Abstract Gymnasts’ evolutions in the group event have always generated a top-level technical and artistic show, by

enjoying a good appreciation from the audience. The beauty and the variety of spatial combinations, the

various modes of group travelling, the accuracy of hand apparatus trajectories, the complexity of the

elements performed by gymnasts in perfect coordination with music, the unpredictable and plastic effects

issued from this association, all these arouse aesthetical emotions. We are witnesses of an authentic recital

during which gymnasts, apparatus and music are in perfect symbiosis, where each associated element has its

particular significance. This study emphasizes that the evaluation system of the 2009-2012 FIG Code of

Points presented a series of negative aspects that determined the coaches to organize the exercises around

the technique and the execution quality, by considering that these two elements represented the unique

determinants of the composition that would allow their gymnasts to be awarded the maximal score. In this

case, a part of the artistic requirements were less taken into consideration and usually inappropriately

evaluated.

Application of Neural and Regression Models in Sports Results

Prediction

Adam Maszczyk a*, Artur Gołaśa, Przemysław Pietraszewskia, Robert Rocznioka,

a Department of Sports Training, Jerzy Kukuczka Academy of Physical Education in Katowice, Poland

Abstract The investigation was aimed at comparing regression and neural models with respect to their accuracy of predicting

sports results. The presented study involved a group of 116 javelin throwers, aged 18±0.5 years. The statistical analysis

was initially done by the Shapiro-Wilk normality test and by the homogeneity test. Correlation matrix and analysis of

regression revealed four predictors (cross step, specific power of the arms and the trunk, specific power of the abdominal

muscles and the grip power). Then, non-linear regression models as well as neural models were built. Thus, to verify

models, the sports results were predicted for the group of 20 javelin throwers from the Polish National Team and tested

by comparing the models-generated predictions with their actual. The non-linear regression models and perceptron

networks structured as 4-3-1, demonstrated their capacity for making generalization and predicting sports results.

What’s more the difference in the absolute errors values was 12.68m (between true and estimated performances in

verification group of 20 Polish javelin throwers), favoring the neural models. The analysis of the above data clearly shows

that the neural model better predicts sports results than the regression model, Therefore, the investigation demonstrated

a significantly greater accuracy of prediction for the perceptron models.

Performance criteria in aerobic gymnastics – impact on the

sportive training

Mezei Marianaa*, Cristea Orlandoa

a National University of Physical Education and Sports, Constantin Noica, No 140, Bucharest, 060057, Romania

Abstract The aerobic gymnastics, the newest sporting branch included by the International Gymnastics Federation in the official

competitions, represents one of the sporting subjects where Romania constantly obtained good results at international

level, due to some valuable technicians who continuously innovated the content of the coaching sessions, as well as to

some exceptional gymnasts, able to valorize their biomotric potential and their ability to show technical accuracy in

execution.

In the last years, as in other sporting branches, also aerobic gymnastics incurred changes in regulation with significant

impacts on the content and dynamics of the exercises, as well as on the functional stress level caused by such exercises,

all those transposing in coaching methods and contents addressing especially the targeted performance criteria.

Practice proved that in the last years, out of the three performance criteria, the Romanian sportsmen obtain high grades

for Difficulty and Execution elements and low grades for Artistic element, which integrates the music and musicality,

aerobic content, general content, use of space and artistic sub-criteria.

In such context, we aim to optimize the artistic coaching by using a wide range of bodily and musical techniques applied

under functional stress conditions as closer to the actual competing functional stress conditions as possible.

Abstract The objective of this study is to obtain information able to influence the results that may be obtained by athletes that are

a component of the youth batch at orienteering that participates in the European Youth Championships, by means of the

of the selection criteria of the lot. The database is constituted by the results obtained by the Romanian National lot at the

European Youth Orienteering Championships during the period 2009-2012 and the selection criteria according to which

the batches were made. The interpretation of results is performed by variance analysis. In 2010, athletes included in the

training program (forced by the selection nomenclature system), before EYOC, a 10-weeks workout on competitive field,

with 2-3 weekly sessions. The study shows that in a 98.8% probability the introduction of selection criteria of

international competitions in large numbers leads to better results in the long distance test. The analysis realized for the

sprint test determine us to affirm that there are no significant differences between athletes with experience in

international competitions and those without experience, but we can say that between the number of participations, in

selection, in international competitions and disqualified athletes there is an inverse proportion.

Abstract This paper relies on a systematical analysis of the studies about the injuries occurred during the Taekwondo

competitions, published in some electronic databases such as: Pubmed, Google Scholar, Proquest, but also on

a video-analysis constative and interpretative study. Within this research, we analyzed 732 matches, among

which 413 (56%) represented men’s events and 319 (44%) women’s events performed during the 2012

World Junior Championship held in Egypt. Results emphasized that out of the total number of matches, only 7

ended with a KO (2 in women’s contests and 5 in men’s contests). Conclusions: We consider that the reduced

number of KOs at the head level is due to the refereeing system, the powerful kicks not being necessary to

win points.

Abstract The main aim of the study was to compare the perceptual abilities of top soccer referees and assistant referees at

different levels of professional attainment. The sample consisted of FIFA and national level referees and assistant

referees. Their perceptual abilities were assessed with a classical tool applied to measure psychomotor abilities in

humans – the Toulouse-Pieron test. The results indicated that: perceptual abilities of assistant referees were definitely

better than the referees’ (p<0.01). Top level referees demonstrated better perceptual abilities than the first-league

referees (p<0.01). The research results have proved that referees’ perceptual abilities differ depending on their function

and professional level, as well as indicating that the quality of the abilities may influence the number and correctness of

decisions made during a game. It has been demonstrated that this elementary cognitive process may be strongly shaped

by individual’s experience and age. This finding may be instrumental in screening referees and developing criteria for

recruiting future referees.

Abstract The main goal of this work is the video computerized analysis of the characteristic sports technique key elements of the

double somersault dismount off uneven bars in the basic specialization stage in women’s artistic gymnastics. The study

was conducted during Masters National Championships, Onești, 16-18.XI.2012. The subjects of the research were 8

female gymnasts, 12 to 14 years old, members of the Junior Olympic Team of Deva and finalists on this apparatus. The

biomechanical analysis was performed by means of a specialized program called Physics ToolKit Version 6.0, focusing on

the key elements of sports technique (as per Boloban, V., 1990): start position of the body (SP), multiplication of body

position (MP) and final position (FP) of the body. The biomechanical analysis of double somersault uneven bars dismount

highlighted the characteristics of the key elements and the influence of the biomechanical indicators on the dismount

technical execution. The analysis of the dismounts execution compared to the requirements of the technical regulations of

the International Code of Points for uneven bars will generate new methodological guidelines meant to improve and

correct them, fact that confirm the hypotheses proposed and the performances achieved in competition.

a University of Salerno, Italy

Abstract This work focuses on two specific aspects of High Diving: Water impact because of the platforms locates up 28 meters,

Lack of training sessions, exception the day before the competition

The method is integrated and composed by two distinct approaches: Biomechanical to simulate the calculation impact to

water for body damages and suggestions per better performances; Performance Analysis to analyze trough video analysis

technical aspects and modeling better performances.

Data show the athlete’s body takes the maximum charge when it is partially submerged. Which means, diver of 80 kg with

a surface impact equal to 0,000508 m2 with feet in hyperextension, jumping from a height of 28m finds its highest

stimuli at 12994,525 Newton at 1.64 meters of water penetration. The duration of the maximum stimuli is 0.001

seconds. The impact could generate damages and bad performances that evidences also in video analysis. It is possible to

develop a model that, given height, weight and anthropometric values could be calculated the body segment that will

suffer the most stress on impact and, so on calculate the changes in the coefficient of impact based on the exposed surface

and with the help of video anlysis data to take in relationship the biomechanical model .

Self-evaluation of athletes with video analysis and the motor

ımagery ın aerobics

Ylenia Giugnoa, Gaetano Raiola a*

a University of Salerno, Italy

Abstract The goal of this work is to demonstrate how the motor imagery and video analysis can improve technical and educational

aspects of the athlete in a sport such as Aerobics, in which the speed and perfect execution of motor gestures is of

fundamental importance. After dividing the control group and the experimental group made up of five athletes each, we

have analyzed some mandatory elements for the junior A category (athletes aged 12 to 14 years). The control group is

analyzed by the coach with evaluation boards, the experimental group analyzes step by step, the mistakes made evident

in the video analysis trying to give, together with the coach, a new instructional strategy to enhance the motor gesture.

Through the motor imagery the athlete imagines himself to do the movement previously corrected and then just make

the element of difficulty with the modifies mentally elaborated. 80% of the athletes in the experimental group increased

their score from 0.1 to 0.3, while athletes in the control group improved 0.1. It is evident that the self-assessment with

video analysis and a good practice of motor imagery can even increase minimum scores that are sometimes essential to

win a competition.

a University of Salerno, Italy

Abstract The aim of this work is to verify if a systematic approach of "modeling" [Bandura, 2000] on a sample, using video analysis

and field activities, lead to significant changes in the control group, in technical skills learning [Menichelli R., 2010] for

children 9-10 years playing Futsal. Both groups were videotaped in the execution of three technical gestures (guide,

control and shooting) and evaluated, through a grid created “ad hoc” by the technician, every three months. The data in

the three phase evaluations (input, ongoing and final) and their analysis and comparison with data from the control

group, showed a significant positive difference between the sample group and the control group (+7 %). In particular, the

third phase showed a minor improvement (+2%) compared to improvement between the first and second phases in the

sample group (+7.1%), while a substantial balance in the control group (+2%). The experiment confirms the hypothesis

and show the incidence of the use of video analysis as a tool for teaching and assessment of technical fundamentals,

giving great importance of "ideomotor" system to learn and refine the motor skills and specific sport abilities.

Qualitative aspects of strength and periodization in the

ecological – dynamic approach

Nughes Erik, Napolitano Salvatore, Raiola Gaetanoa*

a University of Salerno, Italy

Abstract Muscular strength is the ability that allow the man to beat or oppose by a tensive effort of muscles.

The Periodization is an offer made by T.Bomba and it’s a methodological approach applied in order to obtain the training

aims required for the predetermined competitive levels.

At the base of periodization, there is the “principle of progressivity of cargo and physiological adaptation”. The exercises

during the strength training are designed in order to reproduce the technical model in soccer such as tracing movements

similar to it, in order to facilitate the learning.

The training sessions leaded by Josè Mourinho, the FC Real Madrid coach, are based of methods that combine quantitative

and qualitative features of performance; these methods try to emulate the competition time, to reach improvements of

the reaction time during the real competition, in qualitative point of view.

As for the quantitative features is necessary to respect the graduality of the workload to support the physiological

adaptation and reach skills improvements, the same as for the qualitative features that provide a progressive complexity

of proposed exercises, aiming to create training which reproduce the competition time as well, that in football refer to

ecological-dynamical exercises..

Abstract Efficacy of the spike is important in volleyball score and efficiency of training process has a prior aim for coach, in the

same time video analysis is used to purpose quantitative aspect of performance. Could be useful the use of performance

as teaching method to improve single sport skills. The aim is to utilize this teaching methodology with visual feedback by

video analysis to improve the technique model of spike. Methods is experimental and involve an under 21 women team,

divided in control and experimental group, run of 10 training weeks while is going on the championship. Experimental

group reviews itself by video without comments or helps of coach who evaluates specific technical aspects of spike by

specific descriptors in check list of sport skill in presence of the athletes. The improvement of sports skills of control

group is increased in minor percentage than of experimental group for difference of 12%. The different percentage could

be attributed at the presence of the visual feedbacks in teaching training method. Data shows the future use of this tool in

Abstract The motor imagery is a cognitive process of mental simulation of actions in absence of movement. There are two methods

to improve skills learning trough motor imagery: in first person and in third person. The biological basis on which the

motor imagery theory is founded by mirror neurons. The aim wants to evaluate the effects of motor imagery practice in

training, so it verifies the effects on the skills. Method is experimental and it consists of two steps subsequently. To

administrate the questionnaire at athletes in order to evaluate the perception of own skill, called round-off flic, and then

to compare their perception with the evaluation of Italian federation of artistic gymnastics method. The data will being

compared with those of judge/technician. By the data there is a more effective internal evaluation and also an

improvement in the performance on about 80% of the gymnasts that performed the round-off flic. Interpretation of data

concerning evaluation of others emerged a more low outside awareness of the skills that is looked. Finally, there’s and

improvements learnings for about 80%. So providing the athletes and trainers could use practice of motor imagery as a

possible application for the improvement of the performance.

Abstract Sport training is a practical activity that takes place with certain level of effort. The energy has various

organic sources in accordance with the activities taking place. Under current conditions, both training and

competitions demands are significant. During physical effort nutritional resources that release energy are

being consumed. One of the priorities of sports training is the complete recovery of the tired body. Recovery

is a condition for success in sport achievements. Some recovery means are widely known and are frequently

used by athletes. Other means are newer, more refined and less used, but they are necessary in order to

speed up recovery. Recovery targets anatomically-physiological mechanisms and it is managed by neuronal-

endocrine system. Recovery means are ordered in specific means, managed by doctors and unspecified

means, managed by trainers. Most of athletes prefer traditional means in order to recover.

Abstract The main purpose of this research is to underline the importance of video analysis in tennis and how it can improve the

tennis players’ learning and training process. We started with the analysis of two junior tennis players who participated

in the National Romanian Tennis Championship. The research was conducted in the wintertime, a season in which

players must train on indoor courts. In this type of training, the surface and the humidity inside the bubbles are different

from those existing outdoors, therefore the players must change their strategy in order to get accustomed to the new

conditions, by taking into consideration the fact that the ball has a higher velocity. Players’ motions were analyzed by

using a semi-professional video system that also served us to make a slow-motion movie. Our aim was to clearly see if all

the important needed information could be revealed by this system that any tennis coach can afford. The research was a

great opportunity for the players to identify their strengths and to improve their weaknesses, in relation to the performed

strokes, but also to feel the game in a different way. We did our best to provide them a complete feedback and to help the

coaches with this video system

Abstract The training program during the Olympic cycle 2001-2004 it was directed and focused heavily on the

completion and implementation of the whole exercise as correctly from technical point of view, they were

subjected to assessments due following the considerable number of tests and competitions.

In comparison, the preparation of the year 2005-2008 was deficient in the number of tests, the number of full

exercises in preparatory period and the attention given to the determination of the competitive effort. There

was too much emphasis put on developing physical support and has not complied with the recovery period

required.

Abstract Muscle strength is one of the most important motric qualities, which largely influences the speed of execution

of movements and activities that requires strength and skill. Muscle strength is a fundamental property of

human performance which provides important information on human performance by assessing the effects

of training. In this study we investigated a group of fifteen athletes, swimmers, assessing knee extensor

strength. We can see the average value over a time interval of 5 seconds of maximal isometric force moments

measured in two different angles of knee extensor muscles, 1000 and 1200. Measurements were performed

using the Isokinetic Kin-Com ® Dynamometer. The research results show an improvement in muscle

strength after six weeks of weight training in water.

Methods for increasing the game action performance in football

by valorizing the cognitive processes

Silvia Teodorescua*, Dănășel Gheorghea

a National University of Physical Education and Sports, Constantin Noica, No 140, Bucharest, 060057, Romania

Abstract This paper aims to highlight that learning/ improving the technical-tactics actions and their efficiency in the game

depends on a number of cognitive processes, starting from the assumption that in football we meet simultaneous

cooperation and adversity actions, reason for which we can consider the existence of a continuous information and

decision-making flow, a real communications network among players and the ball.

Establishing a game strategy compliant with the acting rules established in the Regulation must be preceded by good

information on the attack and defense systems and their implementation alternatives, as well as on the game

organization and management rules, representing in fact the “strategy embryo”. The special tactical coaching must

include the movement reproduction gestual patterns, the practical action principles or rules, the global typical game

situations and, last but not least, the situations implying issue settlement.

The concentration time in 53 kg women’s weightlifting, clean

and jerk style

Teodoru Marian Daniela*, Murarețu Daniel Constantina a National University of Physical Education and Sports, Constantin Noica, No 140, Bucharest, 060057, Romania

Abstract Purpose. The top level performances in women’s weightlifting determine the specialists in the field to new reflections.

Among the most important factors that contribute to the performance achievement, we mention the attention

concentration. Our study aims at analyzing some aspects related to the concentration times. Methods. In order to develop

our research, we selected eight top female athletes aged 16 to 31 years old, 53 kg weight class, belonging to different

European sports clubs (2 from Turkey, 2 from Poland, 1 from Spain, 1 from Bulgaria and 1 from Ukraine). To objectify the

concentration time, we resorted to some modern means, by using the computerized method. The necessary equipment

was made up of a computer, a camera and the AviSynth software, by means of which we processed the video records. We

developed our research on two stages: 1st stage, 03-13 April 2009, when we selected and assessed the female athletes;

2nd stage, 15 April-31 October 2009, when we processed and analyzed the collected data. Results. The female athletes’

picture-based technical evolution and specific behavior were analyzed by means of the AviSynth software. Thus, we

recorded and analyzed the following concentration times: concentration time for each successful and unsuccessful

attempt; mean of the individual concentration times for all the attempts; mean of the tested group concentration times

for all the attempts.Conclusions. When most of the women athletes lift a heavier weight, their concentration time is

shorter. The concentration time in the first attempt is longer than in the second and the third attempts in four out of the

eight athletes. The concentration time mean for the three attempts, in each of the tested subjects, is comprised between

26.24 seconds and 3.5 seconds.

Correlation between the plantar pressure and the striking

speedin karate-do

Teodoru Marian Daniela*, PetreRăzvan-Liviua

a National University of Physical Education and Sports, Constantin Noica, No 140, Bucharest, 060057, Romania

Abstract The present paper is focused on a topic that represents a permanent concern for its authors. The correlation between the

plantar pressure and the execution speed in Karate-do is a major issue for the achievement of the competitive objectives.

The correlation was made between the maximal pressure values (on the left and the right feet - the correct stance) and

the execution speed while performing the strikes specific to Karate-do.

We found out that the coefficients of correlation had high to very high values, which proves that the striking speed is

strongly influenced by the maximal pressure (the correct stance) on each foot. At the same time, we noticed that all the

coefficients of correlation had positive values, which means that any of the couples of variables taken into consideration

by us acts to the same direction. Therefore, if one of them has a descendent trend, the other will also have a descendent

trend, and if one of them has an ascendant trend, the other will also have an ascendant trend.

The psychomotricity manifestations on positions in women

handball players at junior level

Alexandrescu Nicoleta-Cristinaa, Tonița Florentina a*,

a National University of Physical Education and Sports, Constantin Noica, No 140, Bucharest, 060057, Romania

Abstract The actuality of the selected topic to be approached in this research is given by the changes produced in handball playing,

changes determined by the game evolution.

The psychomotricity scheme includes coordination capacities, ideomotricity, corporal scheme, movement rapidity and

motor intelligence, all these components being fundamental to prepare the future performer.

To conduct our research, we administered a series of standard tests from the psychology field, which helped us

emphasize the junior girls’ different evolution, depending on their playing position. The research methods used by us

were: observation method, experimental method, case study method, statistical method and evaluation method. The

study was developed within the School Sports Club no. 6 of Bucharest and our subjects were the female junior players of

the club team. We found out that, in the Romanian handball, at women’s junior level, the specialists don’t pay enough

attention to the development of the motor and psychomotor components, although their involvement in the performance

achievement can be crucial.

The test results represent a starting point for the construction of a training program able to valorize the psychomotricity

component on the positions held by each of the team handball players.

Ball-handling in water polo and relationship to swimming

Tursi Danielaa*, Napolitano Salvatorea, Raiola Gaetanoa

a University of Salerno, Italy

Abstract Water polo is a collective sport and efforts of high intensity are made in less duration and the skill that is used for the

majority of the game is swimming.

The objective of this study is to demonstrate that training for water polo athletes is most effective when done always in

the presence of the ball, as the ball-handling does not adversely affect the timing.

Eleven well-trained competitive athletes were recruited and asked to swim the test of the 300 fastest (15 reps of 20

meters), one time with ball, and one time without ball

Results can be read in correlation to athletes anamnesis, revealing that incidence of ball-handling is significant only in

athletes who have a swimming-oriented athletic history, but there are not significant differences in times for athletes who

have a water polo-oriented athletic history.

Some water polo athletes realized systematically smaller times when they swim with ball.

The results show as this study can help the coach to train the team for improving the analyzed skills in different mode,

creating a methodological system training to enhance the performance.

Coaches are suggested to carefully monitor swimming rhythm during trials, and to increment ball-handling in every

training condition.

Dimensions of the Personality of Athlete and Non-athlete Normal Weight and Overweight Female Students

Constanța Urzealăa*, Viorela Popescua, Radu Predoiua*,

a National University of Physical Education and Sports, Constantin Noica, No 140, Bucharest, 060057, Romania

Abstract The objective of this study was to identify the differences existing at the personality level, between the normal weight and

overweight athlete and non-athlete female students. The five dimensions (Sociability, Sensation Seeking, Neuroticism-

anxiety, Activity and Aggression-hostility) investigated by us, were measured through the ZKPQ personality

questionnaire belonging to the Cognitrom Assessment System for computer-assisted psychological assessment platform,

designed by Cognitrom. The number of subjects participating in the survey was 45, grouped in three groups as it follows:

a group of 15 normal weight athlete female students from the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports (UNEFS

Bucharest), a group of 15 normal weight non-athlete female students from the Faculty of Accountancy and Management

Informatics and a group of 15 overweight non-athlete female students from the Faculty of Accountancy and Management

Informatics (A.S.E. Bucharest). Pursuant the application of the Kruskal-Wallis test, statistically significant (p < 0.05)

differences between the results on Neuroticism-anxiety scale and the results on the Aggression-hostility scale were

found. The athletes prove a lower anxiety level and, at the same time, a higher aggression level, compared to the non-

athlete female students from the faculty non-specialized in sports (between whom there are no significant differences).

This can be explained by the effects of exercising a performance sport over the development of their personality, the

athlete female students becoming more confident in their own capacities, not being concerned by things without

importance, but being more aggressive, this attitude facilitating, along with pugnacity and assiduity, the success in

competition.

a National University of Physical Education and Sports, Constantin Noica, No 140, Bucharest, 060057, Romania

Abstract The requests which are imposed to handball players and handball teams at this moment are of the highest ranks, especially to what concerns the technical- tactical content of the game, having a superior physical and psychological training, as success and top performances imply maximum efficiency, in speed and under the opponent’s pressure, maximum perfection of specialization in the game, in balance with mobility and efficient play on various positions, but also the involvement of all players in the collective tactics. The analysis of Europe’s best teams leads to the confirmation of the fact that the trends and current orientations of the handball game requires a more active and efficient presence of wing players in the modern game. The article focuses on creating a statisctical model of the wing player from the statistical point of view, analyzing the values of parameters they obtained at the Senior European Championship, Serbia 2012.

Abstract We think that in performance swimming, in order to keep balance between the lactic acid production and its

removal ratios during long-distance races, endurance training sessions should be built by mainly having in

view the rest intervals. In this paper, we shall emphasize that the aerobic metabolism is essential to

swimming races - this discipline being largely grounded on the endurance capacity. Besides, we are

interested in establishing some methodological aspects, in order to compose sets of exercises for the

endurance development, by reconsidering the rest breaks.

a National University of Physical Education and Sports, Constantin Noica, No 140, Bucharest, 060057, Romania

Abstract Pacing is often neglected in younger swimmers’ training sessions. That is why we believe that especially at this level athletes must know and master some important pacing elements that come into play in swimming events. This review aims at approaching the modalities through which the practice of different pacing can ensure swimmers’ progress. By selecting a right combination of stroke rate and stroke length, athletes will be able to produce the fastest swimming velocity, according, of course, to their real possibilities.
