study on effect of moon light on efficiency of light trap
TRANSCRIPT
Work done
• Installation of light traps near plant breeding plot (mercury & CFL-trap) on full moon day, new moon day & normal day.
• Collection of trapped insects.• Classification of trapped insects to their
respective orders.• Counting of classified insects in each order.• Comparison of trapped insects w.r.t traps &
fullmoon day, new moon day & normal day.

Conclusion
• Among the 30 orders only 7 orders were trapped in light trap.
• More no. of insects trapped in UV-light trap than mercury trap.
• Efficiency of trap (CFL & mercury put together) i.e. Highest no.of insects trapped in new moon day>normal day>full moon day.
