The relevance of this place and these objects in contemporary culture

According to Klossner (2006), historical analysts believe that most of the

important accomplishments of the prehistoric world originated from Atlantis.

Like other historical sites, the legend about Atlantis helps to bring tourists to

Thera by the boatload. Here, the tourists enjoy black sand beaches

archaeological sites and dramatic volcanic cliffs (Klossner, 2006). Some can

find rest in the Hotel Atlantis.

Michaels (2010) asserts that the remains of the stone (Bronze) aged

city called Thera proved existence of buildings, streets, buildings,

pottery and colorfully painted walls. All these showed the wealthy

society.

On the other hand, a devastating volcano can easily be seen to have

buried the city. This equally serves as the historical even, interesting
