SQ3R Method

Survey Scan through titles, headings, pictures, graphs, charts (etc.) first

Question Turn boldfaced subtitles into questions for reviewing

Read Read with the purpose of answering your questions

Recite Pause to check for your understanding

Review Go back to answer your questions and/or chapter questions. Try reviewing sections of your reading material every night.

Organize study material into 40-minute sessions. Take a break after each session.

When reviewing, ask 5W questions (Who, What, Where, When, Why) and How

Pay close attention during Exam Review

For a statement to be true, EVERY part of it must be true

Be careful of words like NEVER or ALWAYS in a statement

Try hiding the answers and answer the question without looking at the options

Read the STEM of the question with each of the possible answers

If you are not sure, eliminate the choices that are obviously incorrect and then make an educated guess

Be careful of absolute statements
