The Swedish Security and Defense Industry Association, SOFF, is a trade organisation for companies in the field of cyber defence, civil security and defence, situated in Sweden. The purpose of the association is to, from a business perspective, contribute to the best conditions possible for enterprises to work and thrive in Sweden.

In general, this entails us striving to: • Influence future business-conditions using a long-term and strategic perspective.• Actively engage in market beneficial processes and activities.

Both of these measures are directed towards prioritised markets, chosen by our member companies. Today, SOFF has more than 130 member companies and over 100 of these are SME’s (small and medium enterprises). Together, our member companies employ nearly 30,000 people and even more when also counting subcontractors. Together they account for a yearly turn-over ranging at approximately 40 billion SEK.

SOFF provides network, education and informational material, legal counselling and publications – and, maybe most importantly, presents established and joint remarks and opinions to governmental agencies and other decision makers.

SOFF regularly conducts projects and events that are beneficial for our members or the business field as a whole. Members are presented with opportunities to early on getting involved in and directly affect the outcome of projects of interest.

NETWORKING

SOFF creates venues where member businesses get the opportunity to strengthen their network with other companies and governmental agencies in conjunction with conferences, exhibitions and other events. This at the same time as our members are given the opportunity to increase their knowledge on matters that can be of importance to their operations.

NEWS

On a weekly basis, the organisation informs its members on changes in regulations, politics and news from the business field, something that provides an early warning system. Together with other member companies, we develop advice on how the business can handle the problems that might arise as a result from these changes..

SUPPORT

SOFF is offering beneficial support – ranging from judicial advice to discounts on accommodation.

ACCESS

In a long-term perspective, it is financially beneficial to be a member. SOFF is the center of our field of business and offers many advantages for our members. These advantages include relevant activities and access to market information.

Membership requirements and cost:Membership in SOFF is available for companies registered in Sweden (legal person) with development of products and solutions in Sweden with business in the field of security and defence.

Membership fee is based on the security- and defence based revenue and contains a fixed fee in price base amount (prisbasbelopp, for the year 2020 the Swedish government have regulated in to be 47,300 SEK).

The chart below should be understood as follows: a revenue for up to 10 million SEK in the business field adds up to a fee of 0.3 price base amount. With the price base amount at 47300 SEK this gives a fee of 14190 SEK / year.

The fee is based on average sum for the companies billing over the last three years prior to current fiscal year.

Security and defence related revenue concerns defence related governmental agencies, coast guard, border control, agencies for civil contingency and alike in Sweden and on export.

The purpose of the organisation is to look after the interests of the member companies and to work for a better understanding if their importance for security politics, as well as to look after the businesses possibilities of expanding and developing on a continuously more global market and in international cooperation.
