Securing The Load

The trailers use a unique rail system to secure the equipment.

This rail system is simple to use and quickly attaches and detaches equipment. All equipment must be returned to there location for proper weight balance.

MAST SYSTEM

Each cache trailer contains one mast system for Public Safety and one for Amateur Radio. The Amateur Mast System also contains the antennas and coax. A video shows how to deploy the system.

Bluesky Mast System

The two mast bags have wheels for easy moving and reside in a dedicated place inside the trailer for even weight distribution. Each bag has a complete set of instructions

Antennas

Antennas are hung on the wall by three hooks.

The Public Safety cache has one VHF stick, UHF Yagi, two 50’ rolls of LMR 400 Ultraflex and mast mounting hardware.

Antennas

Amateur Radio antennas are located above the Solar Panel bag. Also the Amateur Radio mast bag contains wire HF, coax and VHF/UHF antennas.

Power System

The Solar Power box contains two 200 a/hr batteries, 1,000 watt inverter, and solar controller. This is 12 VDC. There is enough battery capacity to run the Daniels radio equipment and other small DC power items.

Page 15: Strategic technology reserve Presentation

Power System

A 1,000 watt inverter provides 120 VAC to the covered outlet on the front of the case. This is to be used only when the Generator fails. The batteries won’t last long using the inverter.

Page 16: Strategic technology reserve Presentation

Power System

To use the inverter, a fuse must be installed here. Just loosen the small screws and insert the fuse. The fuse holder will move a bit so the fuse will fit.

Page 17: Strategic technology reserve Presentation

Power System

This fuse applies power to the solar controller. When solar power isn’t being used, disconnect this fuse so the controller doesn’t run down the batteries.

Page 18: Strategic technology reserve Presentation

Power System

The controller not only charges the batteries, but also monitors the charge current and voltage.

On the front of the case there are connections for an AC charger, solar panels, 12 VDC high and low current and inverter 120 VAC

Power System

A Honda 5,000 watt generator, 50’ power cord and a 5 gallon safety gas can are provided. This can be used at night to run lights, radios and charge the solar batteries. DO NOT CARRY GASOLINE IN THE GENERATOR OR GAS CAN!

Power System

The solar panels are inside a bag that hangs with the antennas. Open the bag and unfold the array. The assembly is very easy and should take only 5 minutes to put into operation.

Power System

The power cable has polarized connectors and can plug into the solar power box one way.

When finished using the solar array, it folds up neatly into it’s bag.
