Geological Assessment

Hydrogeological Investigation

• Understanding hydrogeology is key to avoiding problems.

• Are target co’s lands at risk for water influx?

Page 14: Strategic Services Marketing Presentation_20150812 (002)

Geological Assessment

Pressure Regime Analysis

• Pressure provides the drive energy to produce oil or gas.

• Higher pressures within an area of interest will improve overall resource recovery.

Page 15: Strategic Services Marketing Presentation_20150812 (002)

Geological Assessment

Reservoir Characterization

• Detailed petrophysical analysis for the region of interest

• Goal is to identify the high quality intervals.

Page 16: Strategic Services Marketing Presentation_20150812 (002)

Geological Assessment

Reservoir Characterization

• Isopachs of the relevant zones of interest

• Productivity and prospectivity of the intervals on target co’s lands

Page 17: Strategic Services Marketing Presentation_20150812 (002)

Probabilistic Type Curve DevelopmentMethodology

• Type curves are a long established industry practice for production forecasting and economic evaluations.

• Horizontal wells with multi-stage completions in unconventional reservoirs presented new complexity.

• The SPE and USGS Report 2013-1109 set out the standardized methodology for the development of Probabilistic-Type Curves (PTC) and the determination of Estimated Ultimate Recovery (EUR) from resource play wells.

• CDL follows this methodology.

• Primary product, gas or oil, is forecast. By-products, NGLs or natural gas and NGLs, are added as a ratio to the primary product forecast.
