Start with 24 blank 3x5 index cards. Print the attached series 1-4 Thankful Flashcards. Cut out each thankful picture. Have your child glue one picture to each index card. Talk with your child about what on the flashcard they are thankful for. Write this word on the back. Hole punch each card and attach to a binder ring. Children find it difficult to understand the worth in being thankful. They can learn to say please and thank you. Yet it takes time and guidance to help young children learn to be grateful. Young children by their very nature tend to think about themselves. Using thankful flashcards can give children the opportunity to experience being grateful.
