He still slept together with the Boy but he didn't hug the Hippo the way it used to be." "There were many Christmastimes after that. The Boy grew up. He didn't play with toys any more and the Hippo started to feel that the Boy completely ignored the Hippo. He realized that the Boy doen't need him any longer." "Then the Hippo decided that he needs to leave. And one spring morning he left the home where the Boy lived." "The Hippo decided to get into one of the trash cans and wait until the special car will arrive and take him. He felt very sad and even wanted to cry. Sad and tired the Hippo fell asleep." "The Hippo didn't know how long he slept but he suddenly woke up when somebody's strong hands carefully lifted him in the air. He turned around in surprised. It was the Boy. He was gently smiling. The Boy took the Hippo in the house where his Mother was already waiting for them." "She explained the Boy that they didn't forget about him and were very upset when found out that he decided to leave. The Mother said that she really wanted that the Hippo will become a friend for one little girl. The Hippo got very confused because he'd never seen any other kids in the house." "But very soon the Hippo figured out what the Mother was talking about. In summer the Boy got a sister, which the Hippo really liked, and he really wanted to become friends with her. The Hippo was sure that they will become very good friends. And he was happy."
