Story of 8 Frogs

In the current environment, we think a lot and do little. We always have a trust on our leadership which would take us to next level be it in politics or in corporate world. Companies are trying to find leaders who would do re-organization in the company and would ensure that company will become next Apple or Google of the world. This hypothetical story on 8 frogs tries to figure out how we can identify leaders who work differently in the environment.

In this story just think of 7 People around you as a Frog and 8th Frog is off course person standing opposite mirror when you are seeing the one (it is you ).

Let us begin the experiment:-

Stage 1:-

We take 8 containers and put 1 frog each in those containers as shown in Figure 1(a) and close the container for 1 Day.

Observation after 1 day :-

All Frogs would be hungry (be hungry, be foolish) Frog would try to look in your eyes and expect you to open so that they become free

Now open the container as shown in Figure 1(b) …..

Most of the frog would be able to escape within next 1 hour to their destination.

Stage 2 :-

Now try to put all 8 Frogs in one container and close lid for 1 day.

Observation:-o All frogs would be less hungry and would be more tired as compared when they were

put separately. (Most of them would be flirting/gossiping etc) Frog will make group of 4/3/1 (or combination would depend upon which breed of Frog have been chosen for the experiment.)

o Frogs would be less interested in getting information around the surrounding.

Now Games Begin, open the container as shown in Figure 2(b) …..

o Observation after 1 hr All Frogs are there in the container even after 1 hour Few Managers in the container might build a Project plan on what resources we

have and how we can get out of the container. If any Frog try to jump and you will see 7 others will try to pull leg and ensure

that frog comes back in the container. None of FROG would see though the container and see what is happening

around him. Every Frog’s energy would be there to ensure that none of Frog should jump out

of the container and become a FREE man.

How could situation be different?
