Magazine and the Store Sites- branding needs Within the Hoffman Media platform we have one store for all of our brands. Branding is challenging but important to carry across so that customers feel comfortable with where they have been directed. We achieve this by rotating our brand logos across the top of all pages within the store.

Product Links within Magazine Sites- Two Ways 1. Standard links that appear within the header of all pages.
“Shop” link points to brand page within store. 2. Ads rotating throughout site give you a chance to highlight
specific products as well as any sales that are going on. Need at least one above the fold.
This integration is crucial- some of our most valuable traffic is generated from the magazine sites (in terms of value/visit and amount spent).

Magazine Subscription Process
3 Step Order Process that initially offers a free trial issue, second-step is a credit card upsell (pay today & receive $’s off), and a thank you page with either a magazine cross-sell or links to purchase other products from that brand. Test, Test, Test- each component of these forms can make a difference in response just like the various components of a direct mail piece.

Email Promotions to Subscribers
Quarterly deployments to expired subscribers Testing Idea- promote what is in the next issue and force start their sub with that issue. We’ve seen boost in gross and net response.
Email Promotions to Product Buyers Monthly Store newsletter highlighting new products, seasonally related items (mother’s day gifts), related products, bestsellers, etc. We have carried over the header of the store to connect the newsletter with the store experience.
Email Promotions- Single Shot Product
We’ve tested into a “daily deal” type of creative for our single shot emails. Testing Idea- consider testing single shot vs multi-product emails. If total order generation is your goal, multi-product email templates tend to work better. If maximizing sales of one product is your goal then use email creative type above. However, be careful regarding your file selection. Wrong product to wrong file means low response.
Weekly Enewsletter- Content Plus Promo Look for ways to use content to highlight product. In this scenario we utilized content that was related to a new special issue that had just been released. Make sure the connection between content and product is there. Tip… Text link and/or ad integrated within the content area is key to making this work. Also, the higher up in the email the better.
