Helping Babies Breathe (HBB) and Helping Mothers Survive (HMS) by controlling
Bleeding at Birth (BAB).
Led the team that conducted qualitative interviews in eastern Uganda covering Soroti,
Ngora and Iganga districts in two weeks.
Recruited and obtained oral consent from study participants using a defined script and
procedure.
Moderated and audio-recorded 9 focus group discussions with health workers.

the computer and renamed them with identification particulars
Supervised the transcription of the FGDs, IDIs and KIIs
Cross-checked all the 40 transcriptions for accuracy and consistency by listening to
the audio recordings interviews and reading the transcripts at the same time
Designed codebook for deductive thematic coding in NVivo 9 software
Analysed (coded) the 40 interviews using QSR International Nvivo 9 software in the
last 2 months
Wrote the qualitative data report to integrate with the PhD thesis
